Player Guglielmo Vicario

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Vicario has been poor this season - but I don't think he has cost us that many goals.
Sunday was a rare blatant shot error.

And he has made some exceptional saves - overall I agree for various reasons we should part company.

The unforgivable mistake was not replacing Kinsky - who is an abject goalie. One of the very worst to ever play for a PL club.
He moves his hand away from the ball - as an anti save.
Some stats suggest he’s responsible or at fault for 2/3 of the goals conceded in the league this season.

No, Poch wanted Lo Celso - we had Bruno ready to sign
A lot depends on if you believe our ITKs who say that, or if you go with the president of Sporting Lisbon who said instead of 65m Euro bid, we bid 45m and 20m add ons, which included winning the Premier League and Champions League and they rejected it.

The truth is probably somewhere between the 2.

The only.thing that seems factual is that we had agreed personal terms with Bruno.

The knock on effect of a poor keeper or one lacking confidence can be felt across the whole team. Defenders have to adjust positioning, midfielders too and so on. Vicario has great reactions but even then he's culpable for far too many of our goals conceded even if he's not literally making a mistake.

Is Diogo Costa a reasonable option or beyond us currently?

Get him out of my club, along with VDV, Romero, Spence, Sarr, Palinha, Porro, Tel, Richarlison, Solanke, Muani, Bissouma, Gallagher, All stinking the place out with poor application and attitude imo!

Build a new Spurs around Gray, Bergvall, Vuskovic, Simmons, spend the 250m on the above sales + another 200m from the war chest on 4-5 proven, quality players, plus a top keeper, and attract them with top contracts, bring Poch back to develop our promising youth and blood them gradually.

We have far too many players with poor attitudes and below par quality draining and holding back our beloved club.

Thought that being dropped midweek and then sort of called up again in 15 minute to replace Kinsky will give him mental boost.

But clearly, he is just shit whether he feels pressure or not.

Secure PL status for next season and he definitely isn't beyond us.

Going from a CL and title regular at Porto to middle of the pack (in terms of size) in the PL may seem like a step down in status. But the money alone often makes it worth it.

He failed to fully get a hand on a free kick from a player who has what, 4 this season?
He followed that up with an exceptional save that kept us in the game.
He also switched his game up after a while and started hitting long balls towards Richarlison and Solanke to reasonable affect.

He does need to be upgraded. But yesterday was far from a howler from him.
I mean, he even managed to carry the ball out of play for a corner and get away with it. At Anfield. For Spurs.
Think about that for a moment.

All things considered, I reckon he does pretty well.

so youre saying it wasnt a huge keeper error cos szoboszlai has 4 already? it was pathetic, i think most physically abled people save that, its down the middle of the goal. fair enough he didnt do anything major after that, the goalkick above was another one that could of cost us as he cant kick a ball. but the free kick has put us in the shit yet again when we started ok.

hes an absolute clown, the sooner hes gone the better for everyone. hell never be reliable.

give us allison and them vicario and we win comfy yesterday.

The president seemed to be forgetting (probably with hindsight) we'd just come off the back of a CL final at the time of the bid, and had two near misses with PL challenges, when calling the bonuses "unrealistic", but didn't mention what United agreed with "bonuses" that were realistic when they've been no close than us since then tbh, but pretty sure we paid more for Lo Celso, and "tottenham sign inferior Argentine" was pretty much the state of Poch's scouting after mitchell left

Him, Romero, VDV....the self sabotage 'leadership' group.

Don't like questioning their professionalism, but it wouldn't really knock me over if there was a split of players who preferred relegation so they could get their easy moves to different clubs. VDV and Vicario have certainly shown a preference to move in their PR over the last 18 months or so

No, it's not a huge error.
It's a minor error. It happens. Better keepers make bigger mistakes.
Saying it's some kind of calamity is utter over reaction.

Edit - just in case it isn't clear. I'm not suggesting for one moment Vicario has a future at the club. but yesterday is not an example of why that's the case.

not saving a simple shot down the middle of the goal is not a huge error? might as well of not been there.
A huge error would be diving the wrong way, tripping over, catching the ball then spilling it, etc.
He just stood in the wrong place and couldn't sort his feet out.
It's an error.
Huge errors are falling over twice to allow the opposition to score twice in the opening minutes if the game.

Yesterday was just an error. Nothing more. No one will make a meme out of it. Most people won't even remember the one where he got a hand on it, but wasn't close enough to keep it out.

These kinds of histrionics are what led to Kinsky in goal, and that was a huge, massive, catastrophic error.

he let a simple shot down the middle of the goal, go in, doesnt matter if he tripped up or whatnot, how he looked while letting it go in is irrelevant, that free kick doesnt go in against any other keeper. its a huge goalkeeping blunder.
