Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

1. I think he's our best striker since Jimmy Greaves for Spurs and England

2. He's not going to Chelsea

3. His mentality has always been his biggest asset, the last couple of games he's looked frustrated with the team in a way I've not seen before - visibly annoyed with teammates and looking a bit disheartened in his body language - he's only human and although it's sad to see, it's understandable given how things have gone this season and last

4. I think he wants to leave

5. I think Levy (as he should in the best interests of Spurs) will insist on a massive transfer fee that clubs will struggle to match

6. I think we'll get another year out of him and then, with only 2 years left on his contract, he'll leave for a slightly lower fee

7. Kane won't like this but will knuckle down and give it his all before leaving next summer (as Modric did albeit without being a dick and going to the papers to force a move)

8. The only way he stays beyond next summer is if we win or go very close to winning the league - not very likely as things stand

9. We've been blessed to have him because he is truly a world class player

I think you have hit all the points spot on there matey.

I think that if snowkarl snowkarl had quantified the statement as you did, in stating that he was the best in your lifetime, I wouldn't have commented.
I just get a bit peeved when people seem to dismiss 140 years of history and only recall the last ten or so.
Although I never saw anyone before 1967, think John White, Alan Gilzean and Viv Burgess would make my list too :)
Ron Burgess Mrs P?

I’d actually almost think worse of Kane if he went to Chelsea than I do about Campbell.

That lot were so much better than us back then, but the gap between us and Chelsea is still thin, even after this season. I can sort of understand Campbell doing why he did, just not the method of how he did it.

If Kane goes to Chelsea, I’ll not be able to understand that at all.
You are joking?

Thin gap between us and Chelsea?

Chelsea are far superior to us

Not joking at all. Otherwise I’d have put a smiley face on the post.

You’ve done fuck all on this forum except slag off the players, managers and board, yet we are only 8 points behind the Great Chelsea you admire so much. Hardly a yawning chasm.

What actual pleasure do you get out of being so negative all the time?

Anyone who would sell him is an idiot.

I don't care if maybe he'd like to win trophies , he's our best player - you keep your best players. Can't whine about being unambitious then want to sell your best player.

People keep saying 'no one can afford him'. Barca or Real can ALWAYS get financing. ALWAYS.
Barca and Real Madrid are insolvent and going to battle against the rest of the footballing world just to paper over the cracks chasm in their finances.

Barca and Madrid might be in for him, but Barca has at times in the past couple of years been unable to pay its own players' salaries for months at a time.

They reach the champions league final

we get knocked out at the QF of the Europa to Dinamo Zagreb

"Thin Gap"

Fine margins and all that.

Looking downwards we are 8 points from Villa in 11th place. So you could say we are a thin gap from being a mediocre mid table team. Which is probably true. Both ways - up and down - a couple of players can make a huge difference.

It’s why it always annoys me when we draw against lesser teams in September / October and it’s brushed aside like it doesn’t matter.
3 of those type of draws = 6 lost points.
That shit matters!!!

Thin gap between success and failure is a good description

Just to clarify, these stories in the press are coming from Kane’s advisors. Kane wanted out when Poch lost his job but decided to stay to see how Jose’s reign would pan out. Sadly, Kane became very disgruntled with Jose’s style very early on.

Essentially, Kane has asked for a transfer, without formally submitting a transfer request, which would jeopardise his loyalty payment.

And selling Kane has nothing to do with ambition or lack of ambition; rather, it is the simple fact that players decide transfers nowadays. If Kane wants to leave, it’s down to Levy to negotiate the best deal. And that might mean selling to another EPL club. Again, Kane will decide which club he wants to join and all the indications are that he wants to stay in England.

The reason that Man Utd and Man City keep being mentioned is because these 2 clubs have been in touch with Kane’s agent. Chelsea remain the wild card because it is suspected that Abrahamovic likes the idea of a star striker.

Don’t forget that the clubs above will be desperate to appease angry fans and signing Kane will be part of that process.

The deal might be about £120 million because that’s the figure being bandied about, albeit it will be paid over 5 or 6 years depending on the length of the contract signed. That’s standard protocol and is very similar to the structure of the deal when Spurs sold Bale.

Kane will be sold in the summer. Kane wants to leave and that’s the deciding factor. Notwithstanding that £120 million is the estimated figure, I wouldn’t mind betting that the final figure is closer to £150 million.

Bayern could get him, but I think they won't go for him.

Sadly, City, United or Chelsea could also get him. Of those, I think he'd go to City. City = guaranteed trophies and big trophies. Also, De Bruyne + Kane in the same team should probably be illegal. It's basically a cheat code.

He wouldn't have to score 2 or 3 each week just to get a draw, because he wouldn't have a bunch of absolute fucking morons behind him.
The fact a club could sign Kane one of the best strikers in the world & England captain sponsorship alone would pay the fee +shirt sales.....just imagine Kane on the back of this......

Whatever you want to label the gap between us and Chelsea I don't see anything about them that would make it worthwhile for Kane to want to ruin his legacy by going to them to hope and pray that he might win something.

They don't look close to winning the PL anytime soon and had to use a very weak draw to get to the CL final this year where they are clear underdogs. Looking at the PL and Europe they are not at the elite level and will continue to need luck to try and win the big trophies. Does Kane really want to move to one of our major rivals to rely on luck to win anything more than an FA Cup?

For us, unless they are willing to pay 200m even Levy can't be dumb enough to move Kane to Chelsea. The optics of it would be horrible, it would make his current PR situation basically unrecoverable and cost him money. He would need a massive overpay to make up for the money he would risk losing over a move like that.

So while the haters are free to wank themselves over how much better Chelsea are than us the move makes little sense for Kane or us, and to be honest I'm not sure Kane is the best player for Chelsea to go after either.

I wouldn’t mind if Kane wants to leave Spurs , he has given us his best years ,
But if he ever thinks about going to them chav cunts then his legacy will be ruined and I will lose every bit of respect I have for him!

Weirdly, I was talking about the Leicester title winning season where everyone said we bottled it despite the fact we were 8 PTS behind with 4 games to go and they would have had to have lost all their games in order for us to even have a chance....however, it also applies to this season where I'm sure you're right, we would have messed up and denied ourselves!🤣
Oops, sorry about that, obviously lost the thread somewhere along the line.
