Yeah, I know this. I don't think he's a good player, but we're hardly awash with great attacking players to fill these spots. He can carry the ball upfield then fuck up a pass/shot, which is more than Bergwijn can do, and GLC is awful when playing on the wing.

Seriously, who do you play otherwise? We have no options. You stick a disagree on my post but what are the alternatives to Lucas? We've seen how Bergwijn performs. It's all well and good saying 'Lucas is bad' (which, fundamentally I agree) but we have bad players everywhere! There's no magic fix right now.

I think Lucas is better than that and suffers from a striker who really is offering nothing at present.

I wouldn't take out Kane for starters.

I have said I would go 3-4-1-2 if it were me: Tanganga-Romero=Rodon-Royal (although would love someone better)-PEH-Skipp-Reggie-GLC-Son-Kane

He isn't moving. At all. The man looks like he wants to be anywhere but on a pitch with a Spurs shirt on. The message it's sending to the rest of the team is terrible, nevermind what he's actually offering in a tangible sense on the field.

He's obviously light years ahead of someone like Lucas usually, but this string of performances can't be allowed to go on without him being benched. Say what you wish about Lucas, he's a very limited player, but he got the goal today, works fucking hard. I mean christ, he wins more headers than Kane does!

You don't have to like him as a player. I don't.

This has been a bizarre English commentator thing for a while. Not long ago he stood over a free kick and they called it 'within Kane range' ... it's batshit mental. They do it with Ronaldo as well even though he scores one in a thousand, but at least he can fall back on the fact he scored a few when he was in England.

Kane's got to be the worst regular FK taker in the Premier League.

Meh, even when Kane and Son have been firing, Lucas has always shown his limitations. He's a good ball carrier with weirdly excellent aerial ability for a small man, and he presses well. A good player to have around the squad I suppose, but his decision making is utterly woeful, too much of a head down player for me.

But what he offers right now is more than what Kane offers. He's a better foil for Son than what we're seeing from Harry, I'm certain of it. Oh boy we could really fucking do with that other centre forward we needed right now.

Kane at his absolute worth offers so much more than Lucas.

I would rather watch Kane go out and have a 90 minute nap at midfield than watch Lucas play a minute for this club. Lucas has shown he is absolutely useless at the PL level.

Maybe if we are playing Marine or Burnleys B team we can think about using him but never should be used in the PL.

The reason why Kane played well against Newcastle was because "he played more like a CF" though.

Like that was the key to unlocking the world class striker within Kane.

Dembele didn’t score goals, neither did Modric or Carrick but they were excellent, influential team players

When you have an erratic, selfish attacker, they better be putting up numbers if they don’t fall into the category above

Fair, you're entitled to your opinion.

But mine is that I'd rather play a less able player than someone who doesn't give a shit. We're going to be bad regardless because our options are bad, but if that's the case then I'd rather have players on the pitch who actually care. We're achieving very little with either Kane OR Lucas.

The best case for keeping Kane in the lineup for me is that we need him to get in to some kind of form if we're to get any kind of decent money for him. If we drop him to our bench till January, nobody is paying 75m for the guy.

But on current evidence, him getting in to form is hopeful at best.
