Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Welp, since Deuterz Deuterz has no interest in chiming in here let me just say 'thank you' to the footballing gods that Min-Jae Kim was there to save Bayern's blushes against 10 man PSG...it's all well and good to bag hatties against Augsburg and have the usual suspects whack-a-mole up and say how good he is, we're shit without him, etc., but when a run of the mill CL game against a shitty PSG side comes around you should be scoring...as a 100M player. Hope he wins as many BuLi trophies as he possibly can but we needed to move on (years before) and I'm glad we did.

Feel free to file your HK excuses below...
Agreed Kane should've moved on years before he did - but that's not Kane's fault he wanted to leave.

Levy treated him like a piece of meat you'd find on the floor from the outside burger stands outside our stadium & I will never forget how our club tried to bury his career just because he wanted to leave. I will never forget that & will forever hold that against Levy personally.

I'm biased AF when it comes to Kane but I don't care - I was there for his first appearance, first goal & last appearance for Spurs so I've witnessed his whole Spurs & England career. To me he personifies the term 'Generational Talent' even though he himself is too humble to admit it.

I had the pleasure to meet him a few times both in a Spurs shirt & an England shirt & I'm not gonna lie such a great guy.

I seriously don't understand this notion that Kane doesn't score against big teams. He has scored multiple goals against the best teams in the Premier League - The most difficult league in the world. He's scored against the likes of Barcelona for his current club. For England, he has goals against France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Croatia. Around 80% of his career goals are from open play, so far from being a "penalty merchant".

People haven't actually watched his play or they've forgotten & fed into 'Content Creators' narratives.

The amount of bullshit I was hearing about about Kane in the Euros from pundits & the media was pathetic

"This is the beginning of the end for Harry Kane"
"Harry Kane is too old to play football"
"Harry Kane only scores within the 6yard box"
"Harry Kane slows down play"
"He bottles it against bigger teams"

As a person Harry Kane isn't the most confident & he himself in interviews says he had to work on that which I believe any Elite Level player sometimes has to go through as these people are human.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I can't pull stats from my brain as I'm not like that - After missing 1 Penalty in he hasn't missed 1 since thats fukkin dedication to rectify his mistakes.

To be fair, he did piss me off in the Euros a lot. But it was clear that he was playing on fumes and struggling with fitness. Southgate just didn't have the balls to rest him in certain games, which is on him and not Harry. He shouldn't have been needed for the group games and that week or so should have been used to build his fitness up and get him match sharp.

He generally isn't someone that is going to be the difference in the biggest games, like a Drogba. But the amount of criticism he gets for someone with his record for club and country is insane.

Agree with this 100% in the Euros - I believe he was carrying injuries & they should've rested him more fielding the kids for more matches look what happened when we did with Gordon & Bowen against Ireland (NON SOUTHGATE GAME POST EUROS)

I remember at the time Paul Scholes being incredibly negative about him - pffft like he can talk! He was dreadful for England he admitted it even when he said he was at his 'Peak' his performance was poor DUH!

I remember there was chat about Watkins not playing as much as he should be hey hindsight is 20/20

With Kane, you also need people that run beyond him constantly. Foden never did from the left, Saka didn't do it enough from the right, and Bellingham couldn't half as much as he should have as he was absolutely knackered. It was criminal of Southgate to underuse the likes of Gordon and Palmer.

Oh don't me & my friend who's an Woolwich fan were seething over the fact we were overusing the 'Star Players' to me Gordon & Palmer being used how they were was criminal but hey that's Southgate innit.

Well Foden came out and said he didn't play well under Southgate his side was :-

"The position I was put in on the left was very difficult to influence the game. Coming off last season being the best player in the Premier League and playing centre midfield, I do feel the position was quite difficult to get used to."

I'm torn on this in 1 way IF your the best prem player shouldn't you be good enough to adapt? but the other is maybe Southgate didn't provide enough support but hey I wasn't there I just saw the performance.

I try not to 'get into the head' of coaches I can see what's being played but I can't say without certainty until in 10 years when these players start writing books ;)

What about big goals against the big teams in the BIG GAMES? When he does that and had he done that then perhaps the rep will or would have been different. No matter how you shape it, the big moment in the big games to win the big prize is absent and that's definitely a weakness in his resume.

Well, he's not a big game player. I used Drogba as an example earlier as someone who, despite not having Kane's all round game or record, was a big game player. But Harry has scored plenty of goals against top sides. But like every striker, most of his goals will come against mid-table and relegation fodder. The likes of Haaland, Lewandowski and others aren't an exception to that.

But it was clear that he was playing on fumes
Then he should stop playing 90 minutes in search on league hattricks against minnows...which he did all too often last season in the selfish search for the record...clashed with Deuterz Deuterz about this often...who could only respond "shut up you fat American" or some such...

and struggling with fitness.
...exactly, an injury received during a like 4 goal blowout but he wanted the hattrick...and then he's lame for the big summer tournament.

That's just a function of the averages...there are few 'top sides' and many mid-table and relegation fodder teams...so the more games against them = more goals. However, there shouldn't be such a dearth of big game goals...Benz always showed up in his prime...and he put the shite to the sword as well.

Harry Kane ‘secures’ exit ‘clause’ for ‘return to England’ as report reveals cut-price transfer fee

Tottenham Harry Kane Bayern transfer

Harry Kane has a release clause in his Bayern Munich contract.

Harry Kane has reportedly ‘secured’ a transfer clause which would enable the Tottenham Hotspur legend to leave Bayern Munich and ‘return to England’.

Kane established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe at Tottenham, scoring 280 goals in his 435 appearances for his boyhood club.

At Spurs, Kane endured a prolonged wait to win team trophies and pursued an exit during the 2023 summer transfer window.

Kane had entered the final year of his last Tottenham contract, so he was available for an affordable price. Bayern Munich fended off competition from Premier League sides to sign the England international for around £86m.

The 31-year-old missed out on a trophy in his first season at Bayern Munich, but they have marched clear at the top of the Bundesliga this term. He has 70 goals in his 72 appearances for Vincent Kompany’s side.

Kane has been sporadically linked with a move back to the Premier League over the past 18 months. A report from German outlet Sport BILD claims he has ‘secured’ a transfer clause in his Bayern Munich contract, which expires in 2027.

Regarding the ‘secret agreement’ with this clause, which is only active in winter transfer windows, the report explains:

‘The striker would have had to pull the clause during the winter transfer window and would then have been allowed to move for an estimated sum of 80 million euros (£66.5m).

‘However: The clause will be valid again next winter, then for a transfer for summer 2026. The transfer fee that FC Bayern would receive in this case should then only be an estimated 65 million euros (£54m). When the contract ends in the summer of 2027, the striker would then be free of charge.’

This clause is in place should Kane want to pursue a ‘return to England’ and the report also mentions two potential replacements ‘discussed internally’ at Bayern Munich.

‘For Kane, making use of his clause was never an issue in his second Bundesliga season. The captain of the English national team feels very comfortable in Munich both in terms of football and in his private life with his family.

‘The clause offers Kane the opportunity to move beyond just England. He could also move to the USA at the end of his career.

‘Regardless of the fact that FC Bayern will continue to rely on Kane next season, who will turn 32 in July, the club is looking for a successor for the future.

‘Names like Benjamin Sesko (21/RB Leipzig) and Viktor Gyökeres (26/Sporting) were discussed internally.

‘Both would cost a high transfer fee of around 70 million euros, but would receive significantly less salary than Kane, who already came to Bayern as a top star and earns an estimated 25 million euros a year.’

People get paid way too much for speculation - Football365 can go sling also to check the source of this you have to pay for the article? I've dug deeper into this & these are the facts :-

Bayern accepted such a clause when they signed the England captain in 2023 for €100 million ($103 million) from Tottenham Hotspur.

So in essence this is old news being recycled with a new narrative by a 'journalist' who can't spew out more bullshit about the transfer window to get more ad rev.

He shouldn't have signed a 6-year deal then lol maybe got a proper agent that wasn't his brother...

Incredible footballer but he made a choice to sign a deal worth a minimum £144 million over 6 years. 144 Million. can you even get your head around that? He signed the deal knowing full well how much money it was worth to him and every word of the contract. No one forced him, no one coerced him.

Late response on this one - as I've said before I'm VERY biased when it comes to Harry Kane so I fully accept I may have rose tinted glasses on - you're talking to someone who went to the Museum Exhibition more than 4 times with 4 different groups :)

Regarding him not playing the full 90 that's down to a three way convo with the player, the medical team & the manager. I can't fully blame Kane for being overused & running on fumes as I can't fully blame the current Spurs players who in the last two games I've seen most of the players after a game drop to deck gasping for air.

I don't know Kane personally - met him yes but you don't say 'oi mate why you soo tired now mate?' you shake the man's hand for all the service he's done for my club 7 country y'know but I do know (from his own words in interviews) he really want's to go that extra mile as he has a lot to prove, even when he was young he said

Jimmy Fallon - That's right, yeah. -When you were a kid, did, like, your coaches think like, "Oh, this this kid, Harry, is gonna be a superstar?"

Harry Kane - No, I don't think so. I don't think, I mean, I was good when I was younger but I don't think I was the best player on the team. And I really had to kind of work hard to kind of prove people wrong. But I think that's what made me kind of who I am today and got me to the level I got to, 'cause that kind of self-belief, that drive, that determination.

I believe England's issues in the Euros were more managerial / coaching than the players ability but having Tuchel in the England team who's worked with Kane at a club level & knows his strengths should be able to use him wisely but we will see - I'll be there at the games at Wembley in March to witness it first hand.

The next world cup could be his last :(

If it wasn't in the contract then it wasn't in the contract.... like why would he sign a contract based on something that wasn't in it.... that's on him, his agents, his lawyers..

It's not like he was done over.... the guy got paid over 100m for his services..
