Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Shearer played 3 seasons in a 22 team Premier League, with virtually no foreign players and English football at a low ebb. The start of the Premier League was chronologically closer to Greaves's career than Haaland's.
Well said, the league Shearer dominated was more like the Championship today. When Newcastle put 7 past us our team was

Walker
Carr Calderwood Judas Wilson
Fox Howells Nielsen Sinton
Sheringham Iverson

Dozzell on the bench

We were a mid-table side, by no means the worst in the league. Of course he scored a shedload!

I'm still shocked every time I look back at that age. A lot of pitches resembling council parks with huge patchs of grass missing etc.

In the modern age, this would not have been a goal even - look at the Ndombele level of efforts from the blackburn players

Fucking hell.... THAT'S a thought!

1961-1970 >> 1992 >>>>> 2025

22 years between the end of Greavsies Spurs career and the inception of the Premier League.... 33 years ago!!!

He’s the best striker of his generation. A phenomenon.

I genuinely do think he could crown this year with a ballon d’or. Bayern are right up there for the champions league behind PSG.

A shame I am not convinced by England as that would cap it - but without injuries he can break all sorts of records and he will win things.

So happy for him. He deserves it. That strike against Frankfurt is technical perfection.

There's Spurs fans that don't want him to come back wondering whether he'll fit the system or whether he's too old to build a team around him.

Yeah you're idiots.

It's no surprise that Kane's best form has come with Musiala being injured. As good as Jamal is he kills so many Bayern attacks by dribbling and ball hogging too much. He also occupies the same spaces Kane loves to drop into.
I was thinking about this today. I was thinking "Bayern look so good and they have Musiala to come back...that is scary". But then I was like "Maybe they are better because he is out".

I don't know the answer though but they look insane at the moment and Kane is able to do whatever he wants. Diaz & Olise as wingers is incredible as well. Most importantly, as long as KMJ is not at a starting CB, I fancy them to beat anyone.

Kane Olise and Diaz is a much better attack. Musiala is individually a great player but he is greedy and his link up is often poor. Diaz, Kane and Olise are elite at combining. If Bayern can sort their back line out more they could be the best team in Europe as their forward line probably is the best or at least the best balanced.

And yet....

The Bundesliga is barely a league, so I just think whatever Kane does in Germany as opposed to what he might achieve in the CL means little, im my opinion.

Super player or not, won nothing with us, despite having an even better supporting cast than he does at Bayern.

All the crap about England makes me laugh. Nothing is down to Kane. Always whichever manager or whatever group of players. Joke. They win or as has been the case, fail together.

Musiala is a genuine match winner, but when you watch him, he kills their attacks time and again. He's probably too talented to leave out, but Bayern would miss Kane or Olise considerably more if they were missing for a length of time.

Alex Crook not taking much glee in reporting this.

Someone who’s in desperate need of a good slap!

Good.

I hope Kane states so publicly as well, so we can put amy speculation to one side.

He would be at least 33 at any such point of a return and inhibit the progress of any striker that we might want to target. Or make any such player less inclined to join.

He spent years with us, left as 2nd top PL scorer, but won nothing.

Carried us on his back more like and we didn’t give him the support cast he needed.
