Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lucas our best player on the day though
Really put a shift in

Rewatched the highlights on MOTD and Henderson made two superb saves with his feet from Son and Kane

We were definitely second best from when we scored but as I said in the match thread a string of niggling cynical tactical fouls whenever we tried to break with a weak ref certainly didn’t help our cause

For kicking the ball out when Fernandes was play acting Aurier needs his arse kicking!
I hope OGS doesn’t give Bruno any tea all week!!

While I’m ranting Pogba should have seen red for elbowing Aurier in the face
Quite deliberate imv

Different game then but I’m clutching at straws

Frustrating isn't it. The foul on Son was a free-kick. Personally I wouldn't book McTominay and I wouldn't have booked Lamela either. Or both yellows. However, Pogba's foul is a red card. I cannot understand how it wasn't.

And here comes the frustrating bit, I am not convinced we'd win with 11 against 10. We'd probably let them have the ball and they'd still nick it. You still hopeful Jose can turn this around, mate?

I don’t ever recall a clamour like this in the media before agitating over just one particular player to move. Of course it’s gone into overdrive since Sunday as the narrative which has been forming for a while now is that Man U are apparently going places under Coach Ole and it’s a match made in heaven to get Harry there and is best for all parties (not Spurs obviously, but when have we ever mattered in the media narrative).

Man U are the biggest cash cow for most vested interests in the EPL. They dwarf every other team in the league with their appeal and worldwide support base. Peter Scudamore the then head of the EPL said something extraordinary back in March 2014 when David Moyes was still at the helm in the first seasons of the lost Sir Alex era. Scudamore said that Man U’s troubled defence of their league title that season was damaging for the EPL brand.

We’re 7 years on now from that, Man U have finished an average of 23 points behind the champions since they last won it in 2013, the wait there will be out to 9 years by next season and there is a near desperation In the media to see them back at the top table. You have a fan tv service on Sky on just about every one of their games in Gary Neville on co-commentary and Roy Keane in the studio rabbiting on about what Man U need and what’s best for Man U. The fixation there for a while now is they want and need Harry Kane.

There’s been plenty of seasons Man U haven’t finished Top 4 since 2012/13 but I don’t ever recall as much as a murmer in the media about how any given player had to get out of Old Trafford for their own good the way that Harry seemingly has to get away from Spurs for his own good.

I’d love for Levy to come out and say that Harry has 3 years left of his 6 year contract, he’s going nowhere this summer and the press should put a sock in all this speculation as its unsettling and disrespectful to Tottenham Hotspur. Make a complaint maybe as well to the press regulator about all this agitating to get a player out of a legally binding contract that still has 3 years to run.

Fuck the lot of them.
Very good post. I find it unbelievable that on a supposedly Spurs forum that supposedly Spurs supporters would actually support Kane leaving. Sky are a disgrace and whilst I cannot bring myself to cancel the subscription and go back to dodgy streams, I only watch the match and not any of the chat.

Kane's goal PL contributions this season

Vs. City, Liverpool, Woolwich, Chelsea, Leicester
3 goals / 2 assists in 10 apps

All other teams
16 goals / 11 assists in 19 apps

I'll adjust that..

Vs. City, Liverpool, Woolwich, Chelsea, Leicester, Man. United, West Ham
7 goals / 4 assists in 14 apps

All other teams
12 goals / 9 assists in 15 apps

He scored more vs the lesser teams. All teams score lesser vs the best teams. Nothing to see here..

Not seriously now as it’s getting toxic with the players

Surprised he’s still here but apparently Levy is desperate to get a trophy so safe until the League Cup final

If he wins Levy might back him during the Summer but unlikely imv

Firstly, this isn't too bad, 5 goal contributes against those 5 are probably better than most other forwards.
But I think the biggest issue in these games is we don't have any control of play, and aren't even attempting attacking moves.
If Kane was missing chances/ mucking up key passes in the final third, then you could blame him for these stats. Maybe I'm making excuses, but I just don't think it's his fault at all.

You're not wrong but there's even more to it.
It's been happening as long as I remember. They are a parasite and a team I would dearly love to see relegated beyond recovery.
I genuinely dislike them more than Woolwich these days,.

I've already come to terms with Kane going. Personally I don't think it will be this summer, probably next.

I know it's scary to imagine how we'll be without him but life goes on. We have him now and we're still shit. If, and it's a big if, the money is reinvested well and we have another project to get behind it could work out well.

The only way it makes sense to keep him is if we can find the money elsewhere to really invest in the squad. We have so many holes to fill in order to become a proper unit.

Not having a world class striker doesn't seem to stop City, Chelsea, United etc. from being above us - so why should it stop us improving on our position?

Ultimately we will lose Kane at some point, whether its this summer or when he retires so may as well get used to it.

Kane Missed 2 sitters against Liverpool from recollection.
Probably more than that but I'm just to fed up t think about it

We aren't making the top four or the Europa cup, the best we can hope for is to win the league cup and then qualify for the Vauxhall Conference Europa league cup.

Harry can go with my blessing, he will be 28 this year, he gave it his best shot with us, we are a club on the way down. He deserves to win top trophies, we aren't going to do that.
I can’t bear the idea of watching Harry play in that third tier European competition.

There was a time, not so long ago,i would have attempted to argue the toss with you over your statement.
I can't anymore.
Truly depressing.

Kane is not the issue but excuses are too readily made when he fails to make the difference in key games.

What is true is that in the most important games we don't make as many opportunities as we need to.

I think it's also clear that Kane needs better quality around him to have the kind of impact that many think he has.

He will score goals if he leaves for City/United but will he do the Business in their biggest games?

I honestly think the jury is still out on that but we may soon find out unless we have a very big summer of transfer activity, a change of manager and a bout of Levy stubbornness.

Nah his goals/xG ratio is one of the best in Europe. Don't fall for Sammy's propaganda.
I find XG to be borderline offensive in the stat world these days.
They treat a tame shot straight at a keeper from 5 yards as a missed XG, whereas a 35 yard volley that has the keeper beaten but pings off the post as a very low XG and just goes down as a shot off target.

Stats are poison to football.
