Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If he goes to RM or Barca for the right price (£120m+ in this market) then fair enough. Hugely disappointed but accepting.

If he goes to Utd I'll be gutted.

If he goes to a fake club like City or Chelsea then his legacy will be tainted.
TFC's most pompous post award goes to.........

btw I did not say that you fucked up TFC - get it right.

I said it was dickheads like you
Don't build your part up, you are part of a mob, not a one man movement.

:)

But we are the club that used to have an honestly quite sensible 100k per week wage cap we had to break due to player and fan demands.. plus our league positions moving to a higher level.

The club that grew from mid table mediocrity to not looking out of place in the Champions League.

Who sold our best players to bigger clubs in an attempt to secure a better long term future for the club.. turning an old 36,000 seat stadium in to a 60,000+ envy of the football world.

That have attempted to bring through young talent of our own, or to bring in future prospects. An expectation to work, develop and grow rather than just having instant success.

We certainly didn't buy our way there. We grew naturally through some good managers and young, lesser paid players doing the business on the field against the odds. Beating City for Champions League football with the likes of Bale, King, Dawson, Huddlestone, Lennon playing against mercenaries like Zabaleta, Toure, Adebayor, Tevez.

Although over the past year the club have let me down, left me feeling embarrassed & even ashamed of them at times - I still know the way we have done it and couldn't give a fuck about how other clubs fans hate us. They can never have what we have, and although it may not be silverware of recent years - we are Spurs, and I am Spurs, through and through.

That means more to me than it would essentially cheating by buying a Premier League title.

Fuck 'em all.
Well that just proves beyond doubt that even trying to do things t be right way STILL isn't enough?

Why AREN'T we lauded as a perfect model of how a club SHOULD be run... instead of being ridiculed as tight fisted (we all know the underlying suggestions as to why) who are hard to deal with, keep players (sometimes against their will) and who are so desperate to get out of our 'hellhole' just to win ready made, pre-bought trophy 'success'?!

A coupla trophies would change a lot of that, but at the moment, we're simply fuelling the myth that doing things right doesn't guarantee success....

BUYING your way to success guarantees success.... which is a REAL shame!

Is anyone really surprised by this. We've seen it all before. Sol Campbell, Teddy, Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale, Walker etc... People expecting him to stay and wait around in the vain hope we suddenly get our act together when there is no evidence ENIC have any intention of investing in anything other than infrastructure that ultimately makes them more revenue and adds to the value of their asset. We're the anchor tenant of their shiny new stadium thats about as much as we mean in the grand scheme of things. Heartbreaking but true.

i think we knew this day would come
if/when he goes good luck to him (except when he plays us)

i've said before his problem is Levy, Levy will only sell for top money and who will pay that ?

i don't think Harry will ever get to Shearers goal record he needs around 100 goals maybe got 4 seasons left at top level 20+ goals a season with his injury record ?

Yep

we are losing our best player, and we will see others go as well (I suspect)

The only way I see us keeping him will be a significant influx of top tier players and a "name" manager

and we all know that won't happen

You mean someone like Mourinho?

No team bought top players and Kane for all his undoubted talent and our better players failed when they could have won trophies.

My simple take and last comment is that if Kane wants to leave then He wants to leave. Any reasons are purely selfish and driven by that only.

More importantly however is that he is under contract so I am under no whilst I am under no illusions that ultimately he may manoeuvre his way out I just hope it is absolutely on our terms and that we get the absolute best in terms of cost. And adequately replace him.

The club is bigger than any single player and if he goes I hope he lives to regret it and I hope he is content with bit part historical reference wherever he enda up as opposed to the legend status he was on his way to acquiring with us..

I am not interested in being decent or grateful. I am a Spurs fan and some posters need to remember that when bending their knee.

I trust all those that were in denial a month ago, now understand that it is Kane that wants to leave and that it's been Kane that's pushing the agenda on this, not Sky, not BBC, not TalkSport, not BT etc...but Kane.

Still don't see how he leaves unless he downs tools. If he does, don't blame him, blame Levy. Kane is at such a high level now he's mixing it with the top 2 or 3 playes in Europe, why would he want another season in the Europa league or even the poxy Europa conference? He's 28 this summer and has dodgy ankles. I dont see him playing at the top level at 32/33.

This is down to years of poor decisions from the board, lack of transfers, then poor make do and mend transfers, Mourinho and most importantly not backing our best manager in a generation.

Good post.

Should have beaten Leicester to the PL came 3rd.

Meekly surrendered on the CL final where Pochettino dreamed of Kane scoring the winning goal.

And failed in the League Cup final just recently.

It is not as though we don't get close.

You are right and if the only avenue to success is spending stupid money then let's get very stupid money for our prized asset.

Nope.

If he ‘downs tools’ on 200k a week and proclaiming to have a deep connection with Spurs, then I absolutely will blame him. Don’t be such a cuck

He's got three years left on his contract so we don't have to sell regardless of what the wankers at Sly Sports are saying. and Kane isn't the sort that will refuse to train or play, he is a professional and if the club tells him he is staying he will do the job, I have no doubt of that.

My concern would be the stadium debt and ENIC being in a hole due to Covid and having no choice but to sell, we will then buy a couple of cheap options and the rest of the money will go to the debt.

At which point you can kiss goodbye to top 4 and any hope of achieving anything for the foreseeable.

Let’s just suppose that he has told Levy he wants out the best outcome could be to agree that he give another year and that is rumoured as to what happened at the end of last season.

People will point to Levy not selling to Chelsea and yep pre COVID, pre the stadium debt & pre the £175 million loan ( repayable in 13 days) that may well have been the case but Spurs are deep in debt so may not have many options

ENIC arent poor of that there is no doubt but their plan isn’t to keep putting wedge in ,their long term objective is the bottom line and that’s their trophy.

Agents are ruthless and timing is everything . Spurs last fixture is on 23/5 there then is a window of 15 days when Kane or his agents can threaten to cancel the last three years of his contract. Levy would then have to weigh up if this was a a threat and no more but if he ignored that threat and refused to agree to a transfer then Kane could ,however unlikely , end his contract. There wouldn’t be a£100+ million transfer fee what there would be is compensation. As he was an academy product there isn’t any amortised value so compensation, because that’s what you will get, based on the calculator in FIFAs regulations could be way below £15 million.

Now as has been pointed out very few players have left on what’s called a Webster but the point is they can and the threat of a player exercising their rights usually results in the player getting what they desire.

I have no idea if City , Utd or Chelsea or indeed any club worldwide is able or indeed willing to pay £120 million for Kane but the likelihood is that Kane’s wishes to remain in the PL and having had discussions with Kane’s representatives those three will be weighing up their options but one thing I would say to all Spurs fans is don’t dismiss anything because these ain’t normal times

As I said earlier, if he's going then fine but he has to be careful how he plays it if he wants to keep his 'one of our own' tag.

For me, as someone who son is named after him ( kind of), I'll only be ok with him going abroad or, begrudgingly, City.

Anyone else and he drops way down in my estimation, even accepting that this is almost entirely the club's doing.
Regardless of how he behaves..... When he scores a hat trick against us for Man City, I think the "he's one of our own" will probably be laid to rest.

:pochcry:

Id rather he leave in a deal that works for all parties than keep him here as a prisoner. That works in no ones favour as he will just be a negative presence

Kane has given us his whole career and nearly three golden boots and the club have not matched his (or our) ambitions.

I won’t hold it against him as he has given Levy years to pull his finger out

I don’t want to see Kane go but I look at the teams above us and I don’t see a single outstanding individual at any of them. That gives me hope that it is possible for us to move on (I have to temper this against the expectation that Levy will waste any proceeds of Kane’s sale)

100% barca madrid munich would have him. But he wants to stay in the league. Only 3 clubs can afford him. If he goes to chelsea his record should be expunged that he never played with us.
