Yeah we will. Would be nice if every club agreed to refuse their blood money, but I appreciate that's more than highly optimistic.
You can gun for elite players as much as you want to, but in the state we are, elite players aren't going to join us obviously. World-class players aren't. That's not to say we can't sign some very good, talented players that have the potential to be world-class. I'm fine with being linked with someone like Vlahovic. That's sensible enough. But the likes of Laporte and Martinez that keep cropping up here is a bit silly, in my opinion. In football you can never say never, but chances of either are rather slim.
If you look at Kane's shot conversion % and compare it to strikers for teams like City and Liverpool, it's lower. Also although he won golden boot, if you ignore the games he scored in, there were many games where he scored 0 goals.
For some reason I doubted that logic, but it's suddenly struck me in the past few days that he was right all along.

Sammyspurs never really sa8dwe should sell Kane but did say he was not as good as many believed.
The detail about the lack of goals in some of our key games was bad enough before we have seen all this.
Looks really suspect now although his early appearances in the Euros showed it is something he is always prone to looking average.

I suspect a lot of star strikers don't have great records in finals. Teams are often ultra defensive and tight.

We need to sign a striker now and start using Kane sparingly like Eriksen's final months before securing his move to Inter.
If he stays or goes he wont be fit until September, then likely playing with the wrong attitude and commitment.
Even if he stays and declares himself wanting to end his career with us it would be foolish to not bring in a potential long term replacement like we did for Lloris this summer.
Everything has changed regarding Kane. A new striker could come in and score a few goals before he is even ready to play. I doubt Kane is the only striker capable of scoring 20+ goals per season for Spurs with the facilities and resources available.
