Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

typical Sammy - put words in people mouths that they never said, and then criticise them for it.

You are so desperate to justify your obsession, that you will stop at nothing

Support PSG, they have M'Bappe, Neymar and Messi

You can lavish your puritanical ideals on them, and not have to find any excuse to shit our most productive player for the last 7 seasons

Read the word "productive"
He’s got 9 goals this season and still been gash though

But in hindsight, it was obviously the wrong decision.

Team has never been the same since.

Lucas pretty much said this himself.

It may have been the wrong decision by Pochettino and the coaching staff, but it wasn't by Kane. Footballer willingly to play match isn't a bad decision, it's just what is expected of him. There's no blame that can be placed at his door.

And honestly, the team was on the slide before that. Our league form was crap the second half of the season, we were propped up by a cup run. A number of key players were on decline and Pochettino's time was coming to an end. Putting it all on that decision is extremely harsh.

But understandable given the enormity of the actual game

Kane assured Poch he was fit when he knew that he wasn’t but hoped for glory

Poch believed him and Lucas who got us to the final was left on the bench

Like I said on another thread
It’s all about Kane and fuck everyone else

I agree that the team was on the slide for various reasons but my point about Kane stands

The bold is down to the medical team to decide. They will have ran extensive fitness tests when Kane returned. He would have trained, and if he looked off the pace then Pochettino/the coaching staff could have seen that and acted.

Blame them if you want, not the player. The likelihood is he felt absolutely fine but then lacked sharpness for such a huge game, and lacking a little bit of sharpness will always cost you up against a monster like Van Djik.

You should get binned for existing tbf. Obnoxious so and so.

You’re talking about an ideal world

I bet the final decision was Kane’s who was desperate to play

After his lengthy injury how many games did he play prior to the cal final?

There’s your answer

I don't remember you predicting that he would be the premier league top scorer and top the assists chart in the same season though

All I see from you is a twisted delight in seeing the the man who has been the Tottenham Hotspur top scorer for the last 7 seasons, having a poor start to the season - as if it proves that you are gifted with a second sight.

I think you will find that the twat on this site is you Sammy, only someone like you could commit yourself to a crusade against the Spurs top scorer for the last 7 seasons in a row.

You are suffering from something called an obsession, like Mark Chapman had for John Lennon.

Look how that ended

The last 7 seasons, and you think he's shit

There's only one bright side for me Sammy - and thats seeing you banned from posting, because it means we get a break from your obsession

And you think I have a problem with the way I think.
Disgraceful comment comparing a murderer to a poster just because you don’t agree with him!

Carded

The final decision is ALWAYS up to the coach. He probably was desperate to play, but if at any point Pochettino thought he wasn't ready, then as the manager he makes the decision.

I'm not gonna blame a player for wanting to play in one of the biggest games in world football. In that scenario it's up to his manager to make a decision for the best of the team and for the players own good.

The only way it would be Kane's fault is if he bullied Pochettino or used his influence in the squad against him. But I highly doubt that is the case, instead its more likely a manager with a close relationship to the player who rated him very highly, decided to take a risk. And it didn't work out.

Honestly, it could be contractual reasons. I think the whole Kane taking free kicks thing is written in his contract as well. There's no explanation for it.

At the time HK signed his last deal Eriksen was still taking our FKs (and the likes of Trippier and Dier were also deputising) so it won't be contractual....

Just like it won't be in his contract that he reserves the right to play when he's not fit.

If it's always the manager's decision can't the manager just say Harry, you're 1 for 1000 taking free kicks. No one can possibly be worse than you. GTFO.

He certainly could, but it would probably require another player stepping up to the plate and showing he's good at them. I can only assume if someone was banging them in during training, they'd be given the taker duty.

Ronaldo takes every FK for every team he plays for, despite statistically sucking at them. He even took them off Dybala at Juve, who is genuinely great at them. So an egotistical goal hungry forward taking every opportunity they can to score isn't unheard of.

Right now I dunno who else would be better for us. The other taker always seems to be Dier because he smashed one in for England once. When we lost Eriksen and Trippier, our set piece taking abilities plummeted.
