Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The hard on for Lewandowski is ridiculous. This is a guy who has spent his entire football career in the Polish and German leagues. And has spent the majority of that playing for one of the best two or three sides on the planet every year, and also a wonderful Dortmund side managed by Klopp at the time.

Kane gets grief for scoring against mediocre teams and yet Lewandowski does it every week. Yeah, he scores in some big games. But let's not ignore the fact that he's playing with world-class players in every position and for a side that dominates many of the finals they reach for fucks sake.
Why are you trying to minimise the achievements of a truly great striker? 73 goals in the CL against the best of the best.
Only Ronaldo and Messi have more so kindly bugger off.

I can't comment on that because quite simply, we just don't know. All I can comment on is what I see him do for Spurs and England.

For England, he has had a great goal scoring record, mostly against shit teams. England is an elite team, full of elite players. Yet he still has the same problem - delivering against good or elite sides. Most of the time, he looks average or above average. He hasn't wowed me in a long time.

He put in some amazing performances last season, especially in the first half of it. In fact a lot of people were saying he was playing the best football of his career. That's not that long ago.

Am I wrong in saying that Bayern are an elite team full of elite players?

Am I wrong in saying that most of his goals are goals against dire opposition in the German league?

Sit down.

for 75+25 we could have done a lot more than what we have now. dumb cunts were celebrating us keeping aging player that doesnt want to stay.

So people didn't have reasonable cause to believe that Kane would at least get his head straight and knuckle down for the coming season.....?

No-one could have predicted that out of Modric, Bale & Kane; Kane of all people would be the one happy to throw the club under the bus once the season got under way.......

I was happy enough to draw a line and let him leave, but not to have our pants pulled down in doing so by a club that has bottomless pockets.

75m couldn't even get us Martinez..... It would have (potentially) been a punt on a young Vhalovic (whom Atleti failed to prize away for 70m euro) or a similarly Isak (alleged 90m euro release clause); neither of whom have much more than 1 good season under their belt at the top level.

And as I've mentioned more than enough times, his amazing performances are against average/shit teams. He's even had one this season, netting a hat trick against Mura in 30 minutes.

But... when was one time he's had an amazing, world class performance against a big 4 PL side or a crucial game like a semi final or final? Really can't remember one over the past several years.

We werent getting ripped off though. A deal worth 75+25 is more than adequate for kane. A smart cunt would have negotiate to total upto 110-120 instead of the stupid cunts thinking city were our rivals and we should charge them 150m+.

City being alleged to be "rivals" is neither hear nor there afaic.

- Homegrown.
- England Captain
- One of the EPLs all time scorers
- 3 years on his deal.
- Just had a career season (Golden Boot + top assister).
- Striker being a prime cost position.

Same price as Pepe? ....Less than Grealish? ....Less than Zaha was price-tagged for 3 years ago? ...Same price as Harry McGuire?

Nah; not for me.

I've never once defended is record against the top sides. All I have said is that our team is often shit against in the biggest games, not just him, and that Kane didn't pick himself for the Champions League final, because he gets a lot of blame for that. And also that even scoring goal after goal against the lesser sides still has considerable worth over a season.

Maybe not for you, but now we are stuck with an old aging striker, with bad ankles, who doesnt want to be here.

Also, grealish has a longer career left and they will get good value for the money. Kane has not many great years left at all maybe 1 or 2 at max.

Grealish 26 (and shin problems)
Kane 28 (and ankle problems)

Not as vast a difference as many would like to make out.....

+ Grealish is still being talked about in terms of potential (crazy but true!); Kane has PROVEN himself.

You honestly don't think a re-freshed Kane would have racked up the goals and more than covered him price-tag in a team as dominant as City?

Besides..... I listed 4/5 players in order to frame to domestic trf market.... Haller & Joelinton cost £45m & £40m respectively FFS!
