I just call it like I see it

It wasn’t long ago when I was calling Son, Heung Min Bergjwin and Heung Min Winks. When he’s shit, I’ll be calling for his head.

Kane has been a flat track bully, period. Now he’s not even a flat track bully. His game has gone to shit.

Neither are as good fans think they are though

Most strikers are flat track bullies though. Not one single forward in any league doesn't score most of there goals against the lesser sides. You can make the point about the like of Lewandowski and Aguero etc scoring in the bigger games much more frequently than Harry, but you also can't just ignore the fact that they play in much better sides with better players than he does. Put Kane in that City team and he'll score in the bigger games more often simply because he'll get a lot more chances than he generally does for us, its as simple as that.

I love the way people now hunker down to extremes. Isnt the truth more Kane was brilliant between 2014 and 2018, as good as any striker. Numerous injuries have detracted from his game and the stats last season just covered up a gradual falling away. We should have sold him in the summer but were too stubborn to negotiate. Now we have have to sell at a reduced fee or sadly watch a painful decline.

I don't think last season covered up anything. Clearly he's not the what he was a few years back physically. But like all the top players do, he changed his game and evolved into more of a playmaker when he's at it. This season has simply been a case of his head not being right all while being in a very average side that generally creates very little. Our team has relied on him and Son for far too long now. We have next to nothing without them.

As someone that happily critiques both, I find it all fucking childish tbh...... Much like the ignorant conclusion you have come to that I have such an allegiance.

........Perhaps don't stir the pot.

The situation regarding the Etihad Busker, like with several other players and even the coaching situation is a massive symptom of the paralysis that has gripped this club.

I guess the one thing I can thank Sol Campbell for is that, thanks to him, I have never become overly attached to players.

The Etihad Busker should have been sold to the highest bidder, fuck what the fans think, and if management believed in themselves enough the rebuild should have been undertaken with more aggression.

Hindsight is wonderful.

A friend said similar to which I answered we would have been laughed out of the park if we had taken 100 million.

At the time it was the right call. Looks wrong now.

If it's simply a lack of desire on Kane'spart then you would expect him to be significantly better when he plays for the national team. In truth he is arguably worse because he has better players around him, so if it's a decline then not sure how this ends.

Ultimately we are losing out but I maintain our BIGGEST mistake was not buying a 2nd striker.

Laughable isn't it ... I've called for Kane to be sold and dropped this season on numerous occasions, but apparently I'm a Kane fan for pushing back against the agenda that he's the source of all our problems or deserves to be attacked in every thread going.

I prefer Son to Kane and it's not even particularly close these days. But I can still see when a player is being scapegoated and despite what Kane's done, I don't see the point in only blaming him.

Same. I was one of the very few that said we should get rid months ago. Yet because I suddenly don't try to convince myself and everyone else that he's actually never been a top player like a few numpties are here, it somehow makes me a fanboy.

Its not hindsight. Many of us, even pre Gary Neville interview felt the summer was probably the right time to sell given how we operate as a club. We have no idea what the fee would have been, many were suggesting £127m was on offer but we wouldnt entertain anything.

He’s been a top player and I believe he still will be. But it’s clear he’d mentally checked out of the club. Should have been sold.

I’d have been phoning up City the day after the CL final telling them, “looks like you could have used a proper no 9, what’s your offer?”

I know how it ends.

"Yeah well er, obviously I er always wanted to play for...er Newcastle obviously. I erm Alan Shearer obviously er".

The problem is there's no real proof that we'd get 127 million. All we have confirmed is that City bid 75m + add ons and then we have some rumours they were willing to put down 120 with a week to go. Who the hell sells a star player with a week to go when other clubs have done their business and will completely rip you off for their players?

Selling for a good fee was the best idea, but City fucked us around. The club should clearly have gone all out to secure another CF so we weren't reliant on a maybe mopey Kane and had an insurance option should he be sold late. Maybe we could have hijacked the Daka deal for example, maybe not. But leaving us with only Kane and Scarlett as striker options was fucking negligent.

He'll be bringing a self help book out soon.

How to turn your assets into liabilities in 6 short months.

We'll ignore the fact it's not very helpful because he's only just learned to join up his letters.

Exactly, we have no idea what offers we had but blanking any negotiation wasnt the best way to naximise what we could have got. Certainly the Italian journo side, which seemed to have a hot line on our dealings last summer, thought City were prepared to offer £127m. No one was selling him for £75m and add ons. Otherwise i agree, we doubly messed up by not bringing in another top striker early in the window so boxed ourselves into a corner wherby we couldnt sell once we hit mid August.

This is silly.

We didn't sell Kane.

The blame game and those who knew we should have done are in fullish voice. Makes zero difference.

The issue is what next as in Kane's upcoming performances, his impact on the overall squad and then January?

They are the pertinent questions.

We were clearly after Vlahovic and Lautaro, but dithered/weren't prepared to pay the fees so ended up with nothing and being unable to sell Kane because we had no replacement lined up. All in all, not ideal in the slightest.

But I assume had City not messed about and paid up early, we'd have felt more comfortable with the money secured and able to go out and sign a striker for big money. But ending up not signing a CF at all to cover for a wantaway player was incompetence, no two ways about it really.

We acted small time.
We obviously sounded out replacement(s) but decided to act all clever and try to force City to up their bid by blanking them assuming we had something they want and they can afford it so they'll pay it.
We then ended up with effectively no Kane, no replacement and no coming back from that.

A grown up negotiator would have realised that keeping Kane could well be problematic going forward so they would have gone to the negotiating table and done a deal. Actively talking get's deals done, acting like little babies and ignoring the other side until they beg you is pathetic.
