It shouldn't be. Assists are a pretty bogus stat it's true, sometimes you get one for a sideways pass in the middle of the pitch. Big chances created is usually better across a long period of time, Kane is a good passer but not a creative player. I've said before on here his assist record last season won't be repeated.

Kane's xG this season in the league is 1.96. So he's under it for sure (He's having a really, really bad season, nobody is denying this) but that's still very low. For comparison Ronaldo's is 4.20 and he's played a couple less games. And he's not creating chances by himself, they're nearly all tap ins.

Kane is struggling to create anything for himself due to his own game, but equally we are struggling to feed the CF. This will continue to be a problem for anyone we play in this position, we've seen this in the Europa League as well.

We don't get enough crosses in, we don't stretch teams, there's no one touch football around the box, no gameplan for unlocking defences full stop. This isn't entirely because Kane is badly out of form, the issue is far bigger than that.

The service is bad AND Kane is playing badly, the two things can co-exist. Any CF right now will struggle in our team, that's a fact. You put Son up there and maybe he will get a goal here or there and feed off scraps, but mostly he will struggle to be in games.

Narrative #11 of the Kane Cult

Kane deserves praise because of what he's done for country, even if England is playing against shit teams.

However, when others score against those same shit teams, their goals should be discredited because they are against the same shit teams.

I imagine that if most of us had as big a change in performance at our jobs after being the best at our job for years like Kane has been that our employers would start to look at reasons for the drop off rather than actively try and make our work lives worse.

Assuming of course our bossed are not Levy level incompetent.

Yes, we are. His xG clearly shows that key opportunities to score aren't being provided. Looking at shots alone is a hilarious way to define a chance. The quality of positions the ball has been given to them in is far more useful. Kane having pot shots from hard angles/positions because he's frustrated isn't.

It's honestly pathetic how you're trying to craft the same shots = chances narrative, all over again. If somebody takes a shot from 40 yards, is it a chance? Stop it.

There are slower, more immobile players in football than Kane. Most of them also get far better service.

How are you clowns looking at the almost nothing we actually created against City or Wolves and gonna say we don't struggle to create? Or games like Vitesse where we created zero chances with no Kane in sight? We lost to fucking Pacos without scoring, Kane's fault again? Oh wait he came back for the second leg and scored twice.

Kane's an issue but he isn't THE issue. If you honestly think our struggles to create are down entirely to him, you know nothing about football.

LOL I thought he was a world class striker that has good/clever off the ball movement that allows him to get into space and score many goals. So I guess he doesn't have good/clever off the ball movement anymore? Or is it always the fault of the players?

In the 4 games we've played without Kane in the lineup this season, we've scored a grand total of 2 goals, winning 1-0 against both City and Wolves, and losing 1-0 to Vitesse and Pacos. Our two goals without him were a penalty and a pot shot Ederson flapped in. Anybody who thinks our issues with creating chances/scoring goals are down entirely to Kane and will disappear when he comes out of the lineup, is certified fucking insane.

Engaging with people this clueless and this committed to an agenda is utterly pointless, I'm out.

Was our main man playing against Vitessa and Pacos? We are shit without Son.

The games Son didn't play but Kane did, we got crushed 3-0 to CP and drew against French farmers and couldn't get a goal against Burnley until he came on.

We can't play without Son. Haven't you realized this yet? Lol

The two Son started and Kane didn't we scored 2 goals, Son getting 1. As I said, a penalty and a pot shot, very few actual chances created. Relying on one player to exceed his xG and score the one chance he gets suggests what?

.. The system is shit, and we don't create enough with or without Kane. Which is the point I've been making all along but you decided to make in to 'kane is world class' for no reason at all. The point isn't 'Kane is great' (he is fucking dreadful this season) it's with or without him, we're going to be very shit at scoring and creating goals.

We suck at creating for Kane. We also suck at creating for Son, and it'll be the same for any forward.
