Our biggest problem was conceding goals, not scoring them.So ...how much worse would we be without Kane?
Kane has scored far above his xG this season. Many more goals than expected. But what if we replace all of Kane's goalscoring this season with a bang average striker who scores at exactly the xG created for him.
Quick look at the goals/xg and the pl table shows, we drop about 8 points and finish 9th in the league. Sure Kane helps in building some attacks but he is also not very mobile , so another striker that presses better would help in giving away fewer goals. So there's pluses and minuses.
We did reach the CL final without him with a midfield of Winksoko. We would be worse without Kane, that is obvious, but we wouldnt get relegated or anything close to that.
If we improve our defense/goalie and give out fewer goals, midfield starts gelling, and some new attackers (better than Richarlison), then there's no reason we cant improve .
I think if he's willing to go, I'd sell for that sort of money to Madrid. He's 30 and weve had 9 seasons and 280 goals. I suspect he'll play well in his mid-thirties but it's a risk. Alternatively, if we get 10 seasons and he leaves to a PL club at 31, we can't pretend it is a Sol situation either. Will be interesting to see. Dortmund wanted a lot - €120 million according to the internet - but how much they can get since he wants the move is not so clear.
If they offered £65 million for Kane would we be interested? I doubt they could finance Bellingham and go higher than that for Kane in the same window.
But, does he not want the EPL record? If we raise his wages by 50%, he might sign a new contract, with the bonus being he does not have to move his whole family. I would prefer he go abroad rather than to United though.I think if he's willing to go, I'd sell for that sort of money to Madrid. He's 30 and weve had 9 seasons and 280 goals. How can a team fail a player? I don't understand this. No one player is bigger than the club. True, the management has completely failed the team and us, the fans but how have they failed just one player? It's nonsense imoKane's hitting 30 this season, 31 next. Even if he stays elite and injury free to 35, we've had 9 peak seasons and either a 10th or a big fe. It should be more regret at how we've failed him than fear of how we do without him at this stage.
He does but he wants to win things.
If he wins a league, that can't be taken away. If his only achievement is top EPL scorer, it can be lost and a 70 year old Kane could have absolutely nothing to show for an incredible career.
I think it kind of goes without saying that he won one with that kind of record. How many times in the last decade have you heard people talk about Alan Shearer's PL goal scoring record?......Virtually every week
How many times in the same period have you heard people talk about the PL he won?......Virtually never
They'll find a way round itI’m nay shore how madrid can afford Kane and Bellingham with ffp ken?
So why do you think this 'social media narrative' is centred around Kane and not Son?For me, all this 'Kane needs to leave to win a trophy' is absolute bollocks. It's a media and social media narrative that has been purely centred around Harry Kane.
Where is the clamour for Son to leave to win a trophy? He deserves one just as much but I don't see the absolute bullshit circus around him.
Whether Kane does win a trophy or doesn't, he'll still be respected by me and I'm sure many other Spurs fans in the future.
Yes. As long as we get an adequate replacement in attack , improving our defense will more than make up for the loss of Kane. Our biggest problem was conceding goals, not scoring them.
Sorting out the defence would save much more points than would be lost by selling Kane
My main thinking would be because he's English, our best player, creates the most attention from fans and is key to 'click bait' online. So why do you think this 'social media narrative' is centred around Kane and not Son?
I'd not look at it this way. This way bound to fail. First thing fix the defence. Reliable class Keeper, mobile Centerbacks, creative midfield options and pace out wide that's how you aggregate the loss of Kane.£100m doesn't score 30 goals a season.
Spending it the way we do just wastes £100m
I would get down on my hands and knees and beg him to stay. Give him a mega 3 year contract £500k a week. I have no faith whatsoever we can even come close to replacing him. And you take him out of this team and we're fucked.

I don't dispute it. But all the players we sign will be punts and 2nd or 3rd choices. Because it's what we almost always do.I'd not look at it this way. This way bound to fail. First thing fix the defence. Reliable class Keeper, mobile Centerbacks, creative midfield options and pace out wide that's how you aggregate the loss of Kane.
There's two ways of looking at it...He does but he wants to win things.

He'll either revel in being the main man , or it'll be a total disaster.... Nothing in between! If we sell Kane I think Richarlison would be the starter, the money would go towards the rest of the squad.
