Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Difference is that for Bayern he constantly has players running beyond him from out wide and midfield. For England, he's often had the likes of Foden and Grealish who just don't do that. It's not a coincidence that Kane played some of his best football for England when Sterling was a mainstay in the side, someone who despite his critics has world class movement and constantly gets to the back post.

If you're starting him then you need direct runners like Gordon and Madueke, not the likes of Foden or Palmer out wide.

He played with Madueke and Gordon the other week and looked essentially the same. The Bundesliga is iffy defensively. It’s a fantastic moment but it also shows how much time you get there. The other two are penalties .. we know he’s good at penalties.

He’s still a fantastic, technically magnificent footballer but he is as immobile as it gets at the top level. Which means there are situations he suits and situations he really doesn’t suit. For Bayern in Europe against Benfica, Villa etc he’s looked similar to England Kane.

Ultimately a footballer than needs to be managed correctly now. In moments he can open a game up with a pass and if he finds space in and around the box there’s nobody better. But in high intensity, high quality matches with little space which become a physical slog, he’s a passenger more often than not.

Can't judge it on one game. My point is, Gordon and Madueke are far more direct than Foden and Saka, who have started more often than not in the past. Saka now and again would get in behind but it's just not Foden's game. Or Grealish's. So that type of wide player, someone quick and direct, will suit Kane considerably more.

He would actually score more goals for Bayern if the likes of Gnabry, Sane and Coman weren't so greedy. Even Bayern fans would tell you that. So many times he's in a much better position and yet they still go for glory.

I fucking love the fact he now doesn’t run around pressing like a lunatic. Neither did Messi. Or Romario. Or Van Basten. Or Cantona. Or any number of other great strikers who could actually play football.

You can’t teach what he has but any fucking muppet can learn how to press and track runners. We watch football for moments of class on the ball, the like of which Kane produces regularly.

I hope he gets another 200 goals for Bayern and puts the England goals record out of sight.

And that cross eyed cunt from down the road - never runs in behind either, always wants it to feet. Rat

That is fucking insane. Messi scores that and there's wanking about it for a year.

His eighth hate Trick for Bayern in just over a year. That's mental.
At 30 Messi wasn't relegated to playing in the BuLi...if he were he would have scored 10/game...And it included 2 pens and he played the full 90+ in a 3-0...some perspective please.

Walking football...

Hear hear. Some sad sacks on here don’t want him to succeed at Bayern.

The reality is we didn’t kick on when Poch left and match his ambitions. He made mistakes, granted, but I for one wish him the best in the BL.

Yep. Although I’d rather he came back and smashed them in for us.

Easy to score in the farmers league when they’re all protesting in Whitehall. I could get a hat trick with Lloyd Webber , Jeremy Clarkson and Nigel Farage as the defence
Amazingly lewandowski got a ballon d'or and lauded as one of the best strikers in the world for banging them in in the so called farmers league.
Kane is the second alltime scorer in the toughest league in the world.
Englands top scorer.
Youre argument makes no sense

It was a joke mate about Clarkson et al , admittedly a bad one . If you were to check my posts on Kane I’m a big fan . I also don’t think it’s a farmers league.

As for my post making no sense pretty sure that’s not a first

I watched the first half yesterday and he looked pretty much like he did first half for England.

Insane amount of goals but I don't think BM ever gets the best out of him. Last season they only passed to him when forced to, Sane being the worst. They could get so much more from him.

For Tuchel he stayed up top and looked invisible most of the games (until he wasn't). Hope he doesn't do the same for England

Part of his problem is that for a while he's been as good a number 10 as he is a 9. So when he stays up top and doesn't drop deep, you feel like his all round ability is being wasted a bit. He's too good a footballer to stand as close to the penalty area as possible all game. But then when he does drop deep, people will also be asking why he's not the furthest player forward and the focal point in the team. For him it must seen like a lose-lose situation at times as he'll get criticised regardless of what he does.

Personally I think we're at that point where he shouldn't be starting every game for England. Watkins and Solanke occupy defenders considerably more with their running power which in turn creates space for other players, your Bellingham's and Palmer's etc.

Augsburg defended fantastically. Bayern had one half chance in the first half and it took two penalties, one for handball and the other for tripping Kane near the goal line to win them the game. Bayern didn’t look like scoring until Kane won them both penalties. The goals were scored in the 63rd, 93rd and 95th minute.

I watched the match as well, he was completely starved of service in the first half and the second wasn’t much better either. M’bappe has the same issue at Real Madrid, neither Vinicius, Rodrigo or Bellingham like to pass him the ball as they’re always trying to walk through the defence and score themselves. You also see it at times with Haaland, a reluctance to pass to him. Having what looks like 11 fantastic players on the team sheet isn’t necessarily a good thing if they don’t play as a team. Albeit opposite ends of the scale, we’ve seen it over the years with the likes of Chelsea and Utd - very good individuals but shocking as a team.
