Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hopefully he makes the difference against Inter Milan and then the "He doesn't do it in big games" can be well and truly put to bed once and for all. The man is one of the best players of his generation. Being English, he should be celebrated, not ridiculed.

ALAN SHEARER = GOD
HARRY KANE = CRAP

Sick of it...

Shearer was a monster, he could score every type of goal. But he was an out and out number 9. What sets Kane apart is that he's every bit as good as a 10. You could even play him in midfield and he would be brilliant with his passing range and vision. He's unique. He is someone that really suffers if he's not 100% and there have been times where in those moments he's looked like he's running in Lyle's Golden Syrup. But at or near to his best he's right up there for me.

Before the first leg he was getting a bit of backlash from BM fans. All liked him but questioning the fee And impact.

Put that to bed now

Not sure why when he had scored against Real Madrid and Barcelona, along with a hat-trick against rivals Dortmund. He does a lot of selfless work for their team and a lot of their chances they create usually fall to the likes of Gnabry, Sane and Coman and not Kane himself.

This is silly...a good performance in 1 game negates the year's of history where he didn't do these things? That is not rational at all.

Now, I sure as shit hope he wins the CL this year (the Bauerliga trophy being a forgone conclusion) as that would truly cap his deserving career...and it should get him the BD. But let's not lose our reason...those previous performances DID happen, time and again, and they are part of his legacy. But he has the chance to positively add to the legacy this season. Hope he does but it doesn't change anything that happened before it.

Don't really know why this even matters...or what's special about him being English

The fee mainly and how it changes their process as a club and if it was worth it. Not backlash exactly but definitely introspection and more conversation that they would be better off if someone came in at his release clause.

They paid top dollar for one of the best strikers in the world and his record has more than justified his price tag. The way he looks after himself and also his style of play, he won't decline anytime soon. You just need pace and runners around him, which they have. He was a far safer purchase than bringing in a chancer like Gyokeres who has proven absolutely nothing yet other than he can score goals in C rate leagues.

But you're not English, so you won't really understand. But what I mean is that English football fans generally love shitting on our own players, usually because of club rivalry. Kane will go down as one of the best players we have produced in recent history. Any player up there with Lewandowski and Benzema should be given his flowers.

The price tag is always going to be a thorn in his side with the Bayern fans (and probably a bit with the hierarchy).

Bayern are used to controlling the market within Germany. Either players force their way out of their current clubs so the selling club has to do so at a bargain, or they have players sit out their contracts and move on a free. They hate investing big money in players.

Kane broke their transfer record by 15 million. That's always going to be a stick for doubters over there to beat him with. They don't like that they paid 95 million euro for a guy with no senior trophies. No matter his quality.

I've always found it very strange that people make such a big deal of a (granted very) high fee for an absolute elite footballer who breaks record after record and makes the team and players around him much better. Especially given the insane amounts of money wasted on fees and salaries of very average footballers at those clubs, managers and all kinds of nonsense.

Anyone at Bayern should count themselves very lucky that they've got Kane in the team, the last thing they should worry about there is the fee they paid to get him.

Would like to see him win champ lge but their defence is poor.

I'm an intelligent being...have a crack! I'm fairly certain I can understand in the abstract...absent that I can extrapolate from my own experiences...

Yeah, that subjective nonsense is silly and OTT most times.

uhhhh, how about "ever"?

Again, the winning part matters...otherwise it's just stat-padding...there are good players in history that have played for shit teams so they never had the chance. HK has had chances to make his stats 'matter'...many chances. And I think that's fair.

Again, I do hope his grabs it this time...

Ever is hard to say. Football was a completely different game 50 years or whatever ago so I've never understood how anyone can compare players from completely different generations. Kane is probably not as naturally gifted as stacks of English players before him, but he's absolutely made the most of what talent he has and then some.

I love the guy, but aren't totally against some of the criticism aimed towards him at times. He absolutely pissed me off in the Euros where he had all the movement of Lizzo.
