Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Gerrard did the same with Chelsea. Held his own 'beloved' club to ransom to get a massive pay deal and if rumours to be believed threats to stay by gangsters. Yes he won Champions league but never got the league over the line for them. The holy grail. He had better players around him too.
The dippers treat him like a god anyway.

Although another factor is that they are delusional cultish wankers. So there is that!!!
Gerrard changed the culture at Liverpool. He came into the team when it was being run by the Spice Boys and said that will be enough of that. He helped lay the groundwork for where they are now.

Uh I don’t give a fuck about possession. The point you made was specifically about it and how English players can’t keep the ball or some other shite.
Passing sideways and fucking backwards ain't that impressive pal...it's not like you were pounding anyone's goal FFS...pointless possession it was. Why come out and chase something that's not really dangerous?
They can. Not that it matters if you win football matches, which we tend to do.
No idea what this is referencing...but you don't win them when they really count...sometimes pens fly into orbit.

Hurr durr everyone is shit at football unless they’ve won a tournament lately (rendering 99% of nations crap at football) and hurr durr possession doesn’t actually matter unless you score 5 bazillion goals.

Remember in those same groups when you struggled to a 1-0 win over Iran and drew 1-1 to Wales? Yeah we scored 9 in 2 against them. So we’re fine without you mate, cheers.

Like Spurs, where would all your results be without HK? He's scored like 60 Intl goals, right? YOu have/had a few proper international class players and an exceptional striker...but you've not won anything. HK will not be able to drag you over the line so we'll see what else you've got. An actual (foreign) coach will help but you play to win the game/cup/silverware...and it's not come home yet.

Lately!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? LOL

And yet we've accumulated the same number of intl titles as England...what you scored against them doesn't matter...only what you scored against us.

Foreign coach shame! You just know that HK was big on that decision...he must have been screaming 'no English coaches'! Pretty much taints any future success but HK has already danced with that devil going to Germany and giving up on the PL goal thingy.

Yeah mate if we played in a competition where the best team we could face were Mexico and Canada I reckon we’d have racked up a few trophies too.
Yeah, wasn't even counting those..actually, we've got more intl trophies than you...was just talking about the WC where we've got a winning record against you.

But your bottlers would end up losing to them anyway...kinda remember you being fortunate against Colombia...
Sadly for us, our cup finals in our regional competition are against Italy or Spain. It’s a bit of a step up.
You're their pin cushions not competition...you gotta actually win something since balls were leather and players smoked at HT to be considered competition

You see their were murmurs about HK's low work rate at Bayern? Do you think Tuchel will have the balls to start someone other than HK...you know, someone that can move...like Welbz? Looking forward to HK's integration with everyone next week...better hope it's not like Conte's last season where we focused on his goals.

To me, fucking backwards is pretty impressive

Hey, don't read this fellas...

...Barney apparently hates Kane...and thus he hates England...and English people...and most of all full English breakfasts...and don't get me started on fish & chips...he does love Andy Capp and Benny Hill though...go figure.

The article is incredibly complimentary to Kane and essentially endorses building the team around his abilities rather than setting him up to fail ..

Surprise, surprise finding you here, Deuterz.

I didn't say it wasn't complimentary of him (and his walking pace football) nor that it didn't address how to fix what was clearly wrong with his involvement. But what it also did was clearly point out that he has been a problem and his recent performances were truly, truly shit!!!! With no excuses nor gaslighting like what's given on this board all the time. I'm sure you know what I'm saying.

‘Walking pace football’ - yeah, Bayern are really struggling for goals this season. Kane drops in and dictates. Your play doesn’t need to be slow because you have a striker pulling strings as well as scoring an insane number of goals.

Nope, it blames Southgate. It’s really clear about that and specifies Kane was a problem BECAUSE of the management. BECAUSE the way he set up everything was wrong for our star who is the best striker (maybe player) in the world right now.

His ‘recent performances’ are to score 10 CL goals and 28 g/a in 24 league games. Maybe watch him?

Most players looked bad under Southgate. He’s a bad manager.

I didn't say the team played at WPF...only him. And Bayern can accommodate seeing as they have foreign coaches that can adapt...also, farmer's league

And that's where he's wrong... Mou and Conte did the same thing (and were successful) as Bayern and Kane bristled and wanted to be the focal point (we were shit but he got his goals). Prolly wise of Southgate to avoid the drama.

England performances with English teammates and an English mgr...

Addressed in previous comment...but now you've got a foreign manager so that's good, asterisk-ready though it may be.

Kane went into the Euros on the back of a back injury and in no real form, and played in a Southgate team where the wide players didn't get beyond Harry anything like enough. No need to go to deep into anything. If he's going to drop deep, as he did in the Euros more than any other number 9, then it's absolutely essential that your wide players, and the likes of Bellingham, run beyond him time and again. Under Southgate that didn't happen anywhere near to close enough. You would hope to think that someone like Tuchel, who's in a different stratosphere to Southgate, will be able to figure it out.

That said, there are certain games where I wouldn't be against starting a Watkins or a Solanke.

Ok. Who cares when the team does well? Erm yeah farmers league … 10 champions league goals, mate.

We got top 4 under Conte. We lost Kane and got one 5th placed finish with one match a week and are now 14th. Next.

Yes I know you hate the English.

An injury his selfishness caused...blowout game still on looking for an empty-calorie goal...but he was deemed fit to play so no excuses...stop making them.

If he's going to drop deep, ... wide players, ... run beyond him time and again. Under Southgate that didn't happen...Tuchel, ... will be able to figure it out.
Yes...but will the English players understand it?

That said, there are certain games where I wouldn't be against starting a Watkins or a Solanke.
Yes.

10 champions league goals, mate
Sounds great...but should I scrutinize this Deuterz-point a little more closely in order to see which teams he's done it against, when the goals were scored, and whether they were open play? I bet it wouldn't be as impressive as saying "10 CL goals, mate"...

We got top 4 under Conte.
With Kane dropping and feeding Sonny...thanks for further emphasizing my point, Deuterz!

We lost Kane and got one 5th placed finish with one match a week and are now 14th.
This is 2 season removed from the CL qualification under Conte...the season in between we bot 8th because HK wanted to be the focal point and go back to HK football...don't forget that!

Yes I know you hate the English.
Baseless...but I can think of 1 Englishman that's bringing it out in me... :dembelefingers:

Harry Kane: I am more respected since leaving Tottenham for Bayern Munich

The England captain feels his Ballon d’Or chances have drastically improved

Harry Kane says he feels “more respected” and has more of an “aura” since swapping Tottenham for Bayern Munich - and believes the move has put him firmly in the Ballon d’Or picture.
Kane is well into his second season in Munich, having left Spurs in the summer of 2023 at the end of an almost two-decade-long association with the club.

Despite excelling for England and being among the Premier League’s leading forwards for most of the previous decade, there was often a sense that Kane was not entirely appreciated, both within and beyond these shores.
Since moving to Bayern, however, the 31-year-old’s reputation on the continent has grown, thanks in no small part to a remarkable record of 99 goal involvements in just 82 games.

On Friday night, Kane will lead England out against Albania at Wembley for the start of Thomas Tuchel’s reign and believes he does so as an even better player than that who left Spurs two summers ago.

“Just being at a club like Bayern Munich has helped push me on even more, confidence-wise and responsibility-wise,” he explained. “Sometimes when you’re playing in these types of teams where you’re getting loads of chances, when you‘re expected to score 30, 40 a season, that’s an expectation I like to have. It almost puts more pressure on myself to perform.
“I feel like I’ve definitely got better, I've improved, and maybe the aura of me as a player is a bit more respected than what it has been in the past, because you’re playing in big games, big nights.”

Kane’s critics have often pointed to his failure to win a major trophy for either club or country but that drought appears almost certain to end this season, with Bayern six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with only eight games to play.

"I scored over 40 goals [at Spurs], but I was never going to win the Ballon d’Or because we didn't win the team trophies."
Harry Kane

The former Tottenham star was never short of individual honours during his time in north London, winning the Premier League golden boot three times, but now feels the lifting major club honours will have him in contention for the most prestigious award of all: the Ballon d’or.
“One hundred per cent,” he said. “I felt that last season as well. I scored over 40 goals, but obviously, I was never going to win the Ballon d’Or because we didn't win the team trophies.

“I felt like, probably at Spurs, no matter how many goals I scored, ultimately unless you win the title and the Champions League, you’re not going to be in those conversations. I finished 10th in the Ballon d’Or while at Spurs and that was as high as I probably could have finished.
“That’s probably what I mean in terms of being respected more worldwide, on the bigger stage. For something like that, you have to win enough team trophies to be considered in that and probably score 40-odd goals, but that is a possibility this season. That is definitely something I would love to try to achieve.”

Good for him. Will always be our top scorer - in my lifetime at least - and a legend.

Deserves to be right at the very top of the game.

He's right.

There's nothing wrong with him saying this...Bale, Modric, Trippier, Walker, Sheringham & countless others have said the same this isn't reflective on the player it's reflective on our club - we can clutch our pearls as much as we want thinking he is dissing us he isn't we as fans helped him get there.

No player can criticise our club like us fans - every English player that plays overseas (except Saudi & the MLS) have been praised if they do well due to having to acclimate to a new culture yet still perform as many do not.

He's one of our own & will always be one!
