Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You dont think he'll decline?

What? He'll hit 35/36 at the peak of his powers?

Cant say I agree.
He's got better as he's aged. It's a brain game with him, he was never particularly fast or athletic. His game could easily take him into his late 30's.

Beyond that, the striker market is absolutely terrible. Of you don't think Kane could do a job for a 2/3 years while we search for an actual long term successor, you're bananas.

He isn’t pace reliant. Most players are, some players like Scholes, Ibrahimovic etc don’t rely on speed, it’s all brain, that’s why they are still about the same at 37 as 33. Unlike Son there is nothing about Kane’s game that needs him to out pace anyone.
Kane could easily play 2 seasons as a 9 and then drop back as a 10 and spray the ball around like prime Pirlo for another 2 years.
He's that good, especially when used well by a competent coach

It depends on the coach and having good runners around him. Do that and you have a world class footballer. He did more assists than De Bruyne in the season City tried to buy him and he is a striker. He is a totally different level to our current strikers and everyone in the Prem bar Haaland. To not take him back at £50-60m would be beyond stupid.

This is the issue with that scenario for me too. We don't have runners. And having someone play near the midfield, who won't have the ability to press, will mean we're essentially playing with a double pivot in midfield, which is a no no in the modern PL.

Up top, it can be accounted for, but the days of the Riquelme type has been and gone.

Kudas and Odobert are more than good enough in terms of running and Kane on the ball offers so much more than our current strikers. He is currently Bayern’s best player and they are a bigger club than us. It’s only an issue if your manager is an out and out press lunatic, ours isn’t.

I'm talking about him as a 10. As a 9 I'm very aware that he's way better than anything we have and would be a top 3/4 striker in the league and if there was an opportunity to bring him back, it'd be stupid not to take it.

But as a 10 there aren't many teams in the top tier of football that can carry a player that can't run. He obviously has the passing range, but we'd be hurt out of possession.

Negligent IMO.
Spurs with Kane is a team that is in the top 4 and even title race most seasons.
Infinitely more marketable.
There's no real downside to it.

This year he is box office, its overriding his personality.

Mbappe is exciting, if he drops off and kane wins an international trophy. Its his to lose
You can be as skilled and good at playing as you want, but without the personality, the greater masses are going to struggle to care.

Football awards are just as much popularity contests as they are accomplishment based.

Apparently The Sun have something dropping at 9pm regarding Spurs/Kane 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh yeah this TOTALLY happening & oh we need the Champs??? wowsers not like this 'story' is as old as time from when he left us :D

Look for real I can understand Bale, Sheringham, VdV came back for a bit too...

But how silly is that we having the champs is a reason? Bayern M have qualified EVERY year for the last 10 years :D

I'm not saying it's not a possibility but let's really think about this for minute - it aint coming next season or the season after.

This is why I don't follow football gossip - I'll stick to our upcoming fixtures ;)
