I just don’t think he’s technically good enough. He has no guile with his body shape, no real ability to hunt out a pocket of space and quickly initiate an attack. He has his moments, but I think people grab hold of those as evidence of an underlying talent that simply isn’t there.

As soon as Betancur comes in, there’s a basic confidence with the ball. Winks looks like he can’t get rid of it soon enough.

Or he loses possession because he’s not concentrating
Happened a few times last night and he was lucky to get away with the ref giving him a foul but when he does lose it he has neither the strength or inclination to retrieve it

Our worst player atm despite stiff opposition from Doherty PEH and Royal

Could have been worse. They could have played it at half-time with canned laughter.
 


I really wish he’d stop doing this sort of interview. Perhaps it’s contractual, but he always pipes up with words rather than actually playing well.

There’s a strange sense of entitlement about him. And it feels like he’s putting pressure on people through the media.

You're right. Even in Nuno's death wobble he was front and centre slagging off the tactics when everybody else remained silent.

He also seems to think continually having your career die out at a club and a new manager giving you a chance is a positive thing.

to be fair hes not going to go unless hes forced out is he. he must feel so out of his depth in games, but he probably feels like hell try pull wool over peoples eyes as long as he can. hes somehow lasted through 3 sacked managers now, it took them all a little too long for my liking to realise how fucking damaging he is. now conte is going down the same fucking path, just hope the penny drops real soon or it will be the whole fucking cycle repeating yet again.

he knows this is as good as it gets for him, its about how long he can draw it out now. once hes moved on from here i give it a year or two and hell be in the championship hiding...if hes lucky.

imagine if he was a little spanish boy like gil? he wouldnt of lasted 5 minutes

He's free and basically dirt cheap on wages. His position though I would think is a mayday importance to replace with someone better, but maybe everyone around him are what the managers feel should be replaced and he's just been the lucky one that hasn't gotten sniped on the battlefield?
