Shamelessly coming from a fella who is desperately looking for a cunt-off on a football forum 365 days a year. Nobody believes that it's the actual thread that really bothers you, but you've found just another 'reason' to, guess what, bitch around a bit.

I stand by what I said.

I don't like these threads, and I've expressed my reasons why.

Not looking for a cunt off. I'm TELLING you, not DEBATING with you.

Nice try though.

Doesn't look like I'm alone with my thoughts on these kinds of threads either, so guess what...deal with it.

Also I don’t post on Christmas Day. So it’s only 364 days a year!

Summarising all the chatter on various sites, it seems that he's decent with the ball at his feet, but otherwise unremarkable. Reasonable price is around £20m, so we're not going near that 40m they're asking.

Looks like we can do better, but if we're playing up front, maybe his weaknesses won't be so relevant (until we play top teams, and then what?)

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Where did you get that from?

His outstanding stats and performances have been shot stopping and commanding the box, claiming crosses and shit.

The long kicking is the bonus.

“Going to Spurs is like entering the cul-de-sac of football.

As a player you are never going to win anything of note as the cul-de-sac leads nowhere.

Having realised that it’s almost impossible to reverse quickly out of a deal once made.

Plus, you suddenly realise that the only Spurs player who matters, Kane, is waving farewell to you, as he leaves in the opposite direction!”

And staying at little Brentford gets you where? Arrogant small time idiots. Actually can’t believe we are getting bantered by clubs of this magnitude.
What is up with these small club fans and their arrogance? Exactly same with Brighton fans. They have 1 good season in about 50 years and suddenly Raya to Spurs isn’t a step up and they are talking about trophies etc 🤦‍♂️ just incredible
It's tough to take from Brentford fans, but they aren't wrong though are they?

With one year left on his deal, there's no way any club is paying £40m. Hopefully we can haggle them down to a more reasonable £25m with a few add-ons....

Just as long as Lloris isn't a starter next year I'm happy.

Would you mind starting a Harry Maguire version of this thread please ?
£40m is probably too much but If he's the primary target then be smarter with the add ons.

Maybe £25m basic and £10m-£15m in add ons, clean sheets, champion's leagues, cup wins that sort of bollocks. We will surely get *some* money for Hugo, GK and CB are the areas that need the highest level of investment. So don't be fucking cheap.
Hugo will be allowed to leave on a free, as he should be.

I know, I got a barrage of shit last night on a WhatsApp group, from West ham fellas, who now think they are better than us.
I get they are happy, since they have not won anything since ABBA were last in the charts.
But they see this as one up on us , and whilst I admit, they have won something after only two seasons in Europe.
But they are pushing it, by telling me they are champions of Europe, which is what they are claiming.
Due to the negligence that has gone on, ordinary shitty team's are now taking the piss, fuck knows what the elite clubs think.
Our club is a footballing joke, only one way to fix this, start winning something and earn respect.
Ties into the bias against us. Now fair play to wham for winning it, they set out to win it and they did but it kind of fucked their league campaign and they were in bottom 7 all season ( never looked like going down because other teams are shit).
If we done that (won ecl and finished 16th we won’t be savaged in the media)

Our CL moment has come and gone, if we are lucky, perhaps the same trophy as WHU or Europa at a push, we can dream.

Are brentford a sideways step? Just because they finished 1 place below us? Sorry but they are 100% wrong. We are 3x the size and pull of Brentford despite our turmoil at the moment
Of course not, we are obviously bigger than Brentford. I should have articulated better.
When I said they aren't wrong I was talking about them asserting that joining Spurs is a career cul-de sac.
For me that part of what they said was spot on.

We don't do trophies at this club anymore *

*unless you leave or go on loan and then you are virtually guaranteed one

Just an aggregate of opinions from here, reddit, twitter, and others*. Their criticism of his stats were that he faces less xG than others (i.e. saves easier shots?) and his pure numbers were higher because *mumble* facts and shit. I can't recall, but that was my take-away. He's no prime Lloris as a shot-stopper but is better in other way. Ways we will need with Ange. But not for £40m.

* Not sure how useful it is, but the comments section on sofifa is always interesting to get cross-team banter about upcoming transfers.

I'm reading my previous post back and it sounds quite negative, which I wasn't really intending, just reigning in expectations (which I find myself doing a lot at the moment!). If I can para-phrase myself: "Looks like we can do better for that money". i.e. I think he's solid for £20m, but £40m would be too much.

Just In: Looks like £20-25m is the new price! Woohoo!
