Match Hearts vs Spurs Wed 17th July 19.00pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I know its a shitty pre season game against Hearts but it seems obvious to just accept what we can for Emerson and give Spence a go. Did alright in Serie A as well. Saves pissing around trying to bring in someone else as cover at right back and if it doesnt work out we have Gray as well. More resources for the forward line.
Spot on. Do whatever you can to reintegrate Spence because there's a real player in there, especially in this inverted role. Porro, Spence, Gray is ample cover for RB. Then take £15m or whatever we can get for Emerson and put that into the striker fund.

Agree. As Ange has said, this squad needs a few transfer windows. Last season we would have started with Son, Kulu, Johnson, Soloman and Perisic as wide options, but with the last two going down for essentially the season, Johnson was thrust in to playing far more minutes than I think was expected. Richy being out for periods of time only exacerbated this, because with Son moving central it basically just left just Kulu and Johnson until Werner came in. I'm not even counting Gil.

So we need more options but we also need better options. Replacing Solomon with proven quality (Neto?) would be a great place to start.
Need a striker though. Dangerous crosses were going in first half with no-one on end of them. Tbh i dont want veliz to go into the abyss with us. He was just starting to break into team then got injured. I rate him.

In his management career he prefers to buy ready made players based on his activities at other clubs is what I was referring too

Is that true though?

He had no issues starting and playing a 17 year old Kubo at Marinos.

He gave minutes to plenty of academy graduates at Celtic and has shown he isn't afraid to play young players here... Giving debuts to Donley and Moore.

Went into last season starting a 20 year old Udogie, with zero Prem experience at LB... A 20 year old Sarr who the previous manager didn't care for in central midfield...

Ultimately, you can only bring through those you THINK are good enough. Ange has always preached the importance of developing youth.

It's no surprise for the first time in the clubs existence, every age group mimicked Angeball.

Yes, sounds to me the same record of Conte using academy graduates, not players bought for big fees but actual academy players

I never said he is bad at it by any means it's just food for thought because we have alot of youth players that need first team high level football coming through soon

My hope after this game is that we will not have to buy any depth players (except maybe LB) anymore in this and next window cause youth will give enough depth. So we can focus on buying only smaller amount of major pieces that greatly improves our first 11.

Only saw the goals but great to see the young lads doing so well - we have a couple of proper footballers in our ranks, wanna see them all in the first team or on good loans now and progress.

Even if that was just reward for the kids for having such great season last season, you've got to think a fair few of them will have impressed even more after that.

Few of them will be in and around the squad next season, probably starting in the EL too.
The fact they let CT Parrott go and will likely also transfer Skipp suggests to me Ange is gonna trust the kids.
And based on tonight with good reason.

Ange ball is BACK.

Watching all our kids bombing forward in that second half was like a tonic for my brain after a month of Southgate. Buzzing.
