I don't think I've been in the Harry Kane thread since he left. I'm not disrespecting his contribution but the affection is not there as it is for Sonny. You can't help your feelings, they're not always logical.

He currently earns $250k a week to put that in perspective their second highest paid player gets $58k while our old keeper gets $13k...

Just an FYI LA FC - I've watched 2 games, but not the latest, seem to be using Sonny as a 9 not as a winger.

Kinda like an inside forward like how Bayern use Kane so he doesn't have to clap out his legs constantly.

This will eventually become public, as the MLS players union releases all player salaries twice a year (I wish the PL did that), but the reports have Sonny's salary as more like $200kpw.

And Denis Bouanga, who is one of the established best players in the league, is on $71kpw. He's also a goalscoring left winger, the question was how to get the two of them firing together, seems to be going well.

It's true that Hugo is making peanuts though, even by MLS standards. Weird.

I got the salaries from Capology - I forgot to add my sources, I usually do but forgot so my bad, if I'm incorrect I'm happy to be corrected :D

Maybe the MLS don't rate keepers eh? but yeah he is really fitting into their attacking final third & build-up (from the two matches I've seen) but he is generally given free reign - makes sense due to how good Sonny is.

The keepers actually tend to be one of the stronger parts of MLS and American players generally, with those skills translating better from hand-eye coordination based American sports and with the generally high level of size and length and explosiveness among US athletes.

Plus they get lots of practice because the defending is so shit.

He'll be cheffin some Korean BBQ up to the crowds like he did for us but without the strain of having to constantly be on the left wing running around like a nutcase cos our manager at the time couldn't manage a squad...

He also played as a striker against USA during an international friendly. Not rly surprised TBH. He lost his pace and gets tired pretty quickly bc of his age. Less defense duties for him = more chance for him to run behind the defenders = more chance to score for him.
 
Delighted to see him play with such abandonment and with a smile on his face - don't think I've ever seen him do a tumble after scoring.
That penalty was a farce, though. Although the standard of football isn't great, it is entertaining.

I don't think it'll be a purple patch not in the MLS in a position that suits him with a club (are they called clubs???) that respect him higher than any other player - he's paid the most & will be given access to the highest level of medical care unlike what we fukkin did to him...

Don't get me started on the hernia thing it actually makes me rage...

The standard isn't I agree but his standard never slips - do you want a link to watch football full match replays? staying up till 4am sometimes aint the done thing :D
