"...but I have to make sure I focus eyes away from Kane. It is my sole purpose in life."

Naughty. Have you reached the end of your reason, Herr Deuterz? You ok?

It's the Son thread. I fail to see the relevance of Kane's performance, nor was Kane even mentioned originally. If someone wants to criticise his performance in the obvious thread, that's fine. I thought he was pretty much fine, and most match thread comments seemed to reflect that too.

Nope, just think it's laughable and stupid to suggest an attempt at deflection when commenting on a different players performances in his own player thread.

right gotcha, big guy. So...

The team collectively was quite disappointing after the Man City game... Didn't expect this at all to be honest and I consider myself an optimist when it comes to Spurs. Don't really care who Son/Kane did better which seems to be the discussion whenever we lose games. No energy to defend either after today.
It's crazy to think how poorly the team performed in the first half. That being said I think our front three wan't the biggest problem this game.

I'll usually be on Son's case but he did singlehandedly create one of our best opportunities when he dribbled 60 yards and put it on a plate for Kane

Then he drew in 2-3 defenders and laid it off to Kulu who just missed the mark with a decent effort.

Then at the end of the game, found Berg from 8-10 out who hit it right to the keeper.

Had those one or two of those were converted, we'd be talking about how Son's world class and blah blah blah. He had a similar performance he did against City except that we just didn't finish off those chances he created.

You're absolutely deluded. Seriously. If you're not just doing yet another poor troll attempt, seek help for yourself asap.

Here are the facts:

1. 1st min: Finds Kane on the right hand side with a slick one touch pass. Kane shoots/crosses only for the defender to deflect it wide.
2. 46th min: Son singlehandedly created one of our best opportunities when he dribbled 60 yards and put it on a plate for Kane. On second viewing, the header was decently challenged and more difficult than I had originally thought.
3. 69th min: Receives the ball from Kane on the 50 yard line. Dribbles up to the box, drawing in 4 defenders and lays it off to Kulu who just misses the mark wide left with a decent effort.
4. 86th min: Son found Berg from 8-10 out who hit it right to the keeper.

ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, created more clear cut chances than Son or did more than him going forward.

Go rewatch the highlights. Son was instrumental in every real attack.

I don't need to re-watch it. Son was poor. Not through a lack of trying but a lack of end product, and poor decision making. When he gets his head down he struggles to get it up which has been a problem for him at times in the past.

Kane being slightly better with his overall play isn't any consolation in a piss poor team performance.

Could well have if he could lift his head up when running, and had a better final ball than he did.
I don't think his final ball is THAT bad, but it's the stuff leading up to the final ball that piss me off.

He turns perfectly good chain of passes into nothing. Can't ever pressure the opposition when on the ball, if you give him more than 4/5 touches hell fuck it up more often than not.

Missed a couple of potential assists.
Seemed reluctant to shoot from distance.
Found plenty of cul-de-sacs.
Created a couple of chances tho'.

It’s quite funny that various posters claim that Son’s final ball is really bad while nothing could be further from the truth. Sometimes he is missing a pass, that’s true but those passes are rarely as straightforward as they may seem to someone with little understanding of the game. When a pass is not certain to succeed he has a preference of going in the opposite direction to open up space and create a better passing opportunity. Sometimes it doesn’t come off but most of those times, passing the ball initially would not have yielded a better result.

You also seem to not have understood how great his passes in the city game were. Not talking about the assist to Kulu which was easy. The assist to Kane and the pass a bit later putting Kane one on one. Those passes were perfect. Why do some posters feel the need to diminish Son? Lack of understanding or because he has outshone Kane too many times?

I love Son with all my heart and he is probably our most consistently creative player but I was so disappointed with him yesterday. There was a moment right before HT when Burnley gave a bad ball away in their half and all Son had to do was pass it sideways for Kane to be 1v1 and almost a guaranteed goal but he didn’t seem to even look at him. I don’t know how he screwed that up.
