I had a good one for Bastoni, that’ll have to go in the bin now

Did you watch his another free kick goal a few days ago?Yes. That Liga MX keeper has positioned himself terribly, and the likelihood is most decent PL keepers don't do that. Pretty simple stuff.
Still deserves a chance to take some for Spurs next season, but people are mistaken if they're expecting them to fly in like they are vs some Liga MX & Chilean league keepers.
There’s no guarantee a PL keeper saves that. There’s serious pace on that free kick, the top spin gets it down, and it’s at a very desirable distance for a taker. The keeper can’t cheat near post either as son just scored a far post one.Yes. That Liga MX keeper has positioned himself terribly, and the likelihood is most decent PL keepers don't do that. Just beating the wall would be a bonusIn fairness, at least he gets them on target more often than Kane![]()

Quite convinced by your last comment. As a former professional keeper, I probably have a lot more experience than you at free kicks.
Hmmm I'm gonna just say Pickford and let yall pick the bones out. The Everton one not brother that plays international tournamentsYes. That Liga MX keeper has positioned himself terribly, and the likelihood is most decent PL keepers don't do that. Pretty simple stuff.

On the far post one, keeper should probably do better and a PL keeper probably saves it.
On this one, the only way the keeper improves on positioning is by shortening the wall, and now you are giving up more room to the far post. Unless you try a split wall but those aren’t common. So no, I don’t think a PL keeper saves the near post one unless they try a different wall strategy. The wall even jumped and couldn’t get near it.

It's a good strike, but that's one massive gap at his far post. I've very rarely to never seen a PL keeper leave that much of a gap. Maybe he'd seen the one Son scored at the near post and been wary of it, but he leaves himself with a hell of a distance to make up. He probably doesn't save it regardless (it's a very good strike) but gives himself next to no chance.
I'm sure you do. But that keepers positioning looks unusual compared to keepers at the top level, and I'm sure they know what they're doing as well. Regardless, it's a good hit & he should take more if we don't bring in Eriksen. I'm just saying we shouldn't be expecting the same hit rate vs a higher level of goalkeeping.
Can't even think of anyone close. The graph shows he's light years beyond everyone else in the PL and I'm struggling to think of anyone beyond the PL ATM. The good thing about this reactive play is it gets the best out of him as opposed to some of his hesitant play and bumbling with more possession.Son's the best finisher in the league, 100%. Shouldn't really be in doubt anymore, he massively exceeded his xG in 20/21 then did the same last season. He's the deadliest around when it comes to 1v1 situations.
How about..
Which free kick are you talking about here?I didn't say there was a guarantee of anything.

Hopefully Conte just does the right thing and further builds the attack around him. No more decisions based on player marketing and political reasons.

If we want to get better as a team, we need Son taking majority of our shots. It's absolutely stupid and criminal that he's only taking 60-80 shots a year while significantly less clinical attackers are taking 130-150+ shots a season.
We can only assume he's not doing particularly well at them in training.
If so, world class... COTY...
