Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It feels pretty common but I'm not keeping a tally tbf.

You have to admit, it's usually reserved for situations where a player has been outstanding individually and deserved to be on the winning side, or a team has lost after coming heart breakingly close, like on penalties or last kick of the game.

Getting spanked 4-1 by an all round superior team isn't the usual circumstance for it, nor can I think of anyone else who has a reputation, deserved or otherwise, for crying a lot.

I think that there is something to it, even if it's not every other weekend.

The aforementioned Suarez & Neymar haven't been..... It's also Sonny's moment of magic that got them into the knock-outs.

We know Sonny's been carrying the weight of a nation... Bearing in mind SK aren't expect to win the WC; it's all relative.

More broadly; we're talking a guy that is an absolute gem for us on and off the pitch...... Digging him out over this seems needlessly spiteful (especially the glee with which some of it has been delivered)...... Leave that to the oppo, IMO.

Ndumbdumb being the worst (although, maybe not the most scathing); having now revealed Sonny was nothing but a weapon for him in his anti-Kane troll crusade.

What shitty people some of this lot must be in real life.

Almost makes you 'miss' the race-baiting SK fanboys....... Almost.
Naw I love Son. Been our best player over the last few seasons. 3x Spurs player of the year in the last 4 season. Most non pen goals in the PL for us over that period. Most goals for us against top PL 4 sides. Carrying us whenever Kane went down playing alongside the likes of Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, GLC, declining Dele etc. He's been immense for us. Cant' speak highly enough about him for what he's done for us.

But... he's soon 31 and in a massive decline. It'd be a good idea to get rid of him while we can. Same thing goes for Kane but he's a little younger and his legs perhaps has another 18 months left. Either way, the Kane and Son era is almost done. Need to move forward with our best young players e.g. Bentancur, Romero, Kulu etc.

We saw how Levy/ENIC effed up before holding on to players way too long (Eriksen, Dele etc). Always a good idea to get rid of players a year too early. We can't make the same mistakes.

No I think that was one of Ndombadboys transfer suggestions, can’t quite remember Sammy saying that. Or maybe I missed it.

It was, indeed.....

Dier > VVD tho'.....

Boring, fickle, disingenuous and a generally a poor grasp of the game.

Excuse me?

So you're saying that keeping a 30+ year old winger that has shown months of significant underperformance is a good idea?

Were you also one of the ENIC/Levy supporters saying that we should never sell Eriksen when we could have gotten 80 million and it was clear that he wanted to leave? Or sell Kane when we could have sold him for 100-150 million? Or sell Dele when we could have gotten 80 million?

How much money have ENIC/Levy left on the table by not selling declining players?

We debated this two seasons ago. You said sell both Kane and Son.

The season after that, Kane had golden boot and most assists.
Then last season Son got golden boot.

Hard working players can keep up athleticism till 33ish. No reason to sell either Son or Kane. Have some humility.

It's the reason it's not worth engaging in a genuine discussion with you.

I said to sell Kane during the City debacle. Not the season before that...

I said sell Son last season because as good as he is, it's not wise to keep a winger that's 30+ as we saw with Hazard.

Jimenez comment = troll comment

What I'm posting now obviously isn't

You still haven't posted anything to refute my points

youre a fool if you think son has not physically declined a fair bit especially on this years showing. mbappe will be on a big decline slope at 30 too. heavy pace reliant, might even be sooner some of them players start slowing well before 30, when that happens they are finished because that was their main weapon.

son used to have an aggressive look to his sprinting, thats not there anymore, its not there because his body isnt capable of that sustained burst of energy, it gets everyone eventually. hes not going to roll back years and look 27 again.
