Will Son be playing to save his international teammates from conscription into the Korean Army at the Asia Cup? Not an excuse but it might explain why he seemed off it even distracted yesterday. Maybe he should rest vs Bournemouth if he’s got that on his mind.

Or he’s just shite on the wing now (unless he’s playing against Tripps 🤣) and needs to play at the 9 - even his assist to Veliz yesterday came when he was playing centrally. Course Richy seems shite on the wing too so - Dilemma.

Winning the AC does not give you military exemption. Only winning a medal in Olympics and winning the AG do.
 
I find all this drama over Son rather tedious. He had a poor game, and so did many others, so Ange and the team all need to take responsibility and do better. Don’t have to scapegoat him.

And all the hand-wringing over his departure for the Asian Cup. I would love it if he had decided to stay and skip the tourney but it’s his national team and he’s the skipper to boot, so are we to really expect any other scenario?
 
He's clearly exhausted. He'll be fine. We just need more depth/depth to get healthy. Him, kulu and porro all looked pretty gassed this game, and it makes sense. The 3 guys who have pretty much played the full 90+10 every single match.

Sadly most Asian fans seem to think it is a rubbish trophy too based on the attendance at the last one. Definitely not the WC or the Euros. At least it’s only once every four years - instead of 2 like f’in AfCon.

Son should really beg off the group stage games and just go there for the knock-outs. … and my motivations are 100% pure - just looking out for future of Korean football - as I think some of Korea’s younger players/rising stars would really benefit from the game time in Sonny’s absence. 😆😆
 
When Son is back Solomon should be fit and we will probably have a true left winger, stick him back up front with a proper wide man holding the width and watch him smoke the league.
 
weirdly enough i think he scores the chance he fluffed when richy put him through if hes not captain. was trying to look for johnson when he needed to just go alone there opportunity was there, him trying to look for johnson and holding off allowed the defender to get back.
