Better than some performances as of late, but still really really poor at times too.
So so sloppy on the ball at times, giving it away carelessly, taking the wrong option. The amount of chances that died when the ball reached him out on the left was staggering. He’s also completely lost the ability/quickness of feet to chop inside and shoot, which was one of his biggest weapons. Every time he tries to do it now he is either crowded out and blocked or he bumbles over the ball and loses it cheaply.
He was slightly better at times, but still not good enough I would say. Very surprised Tel or Moore weren’t brought on.

Commentators seemed to big him up just for being involved, not really paying any mind to the fact that much of what he did was pretty shit.
That move where he just ran it straight out of play in their box second half just seemed like typical Son these days.
Don’t know about that. He put a good shift in. But the way their number 21 surged past him just before that Bergvall back heel was very telling. His mind is willing, the legs not so much.
Can’t fault his effort though.
Involved in two goals. His play with Madders was very nice. Some fans think football is just about speed but for the assists he barely had to move. Just be clever and release the ball at the right moment. Their partnership is something many people haven't realised yet but for some it's very clear that they are our main threat. Sadely, Mr Aussie rules has a surprisingly low football iq and don't seem to know what he has.
Looked fucking lively. Just keep him fit for these games now and give Moore the league games.

Good players play better with good players around them. Its no shock both of them feed off each other and have also struggled without class around them.

Bar is really low if based on yesterday appearance some people are saying we got Son back.
He was ok, because he contributed to all goals (great press for first one especially). Overall play though - didnt like it. Number of bad passes or decisions was high. I was almost sure he will look again for the shot during action when Maddison scored like he did multiple times yesterday - but at least this time he passed ball.
And to those that are judging Son only based on raw numbers and ignoring everything else - just look at Johnson and Odobert case - you can still replace numbers, but with better overall play.
Nevertheless, hopefully we will see more appearances (or prefferably even better) like this from Son till end of season, since it seems he has no competition at LW right now with Odobert moved to right and Tel struggling horribly so far.

Its "their" truth
We should expect this from him against a low level team. The standard we hold him is way higher than any other Spur player.
At 33 Son is still doing very well, but we need to accept that he is no longer at peak, and that is ok. He still is enthusiastic and hard working but doesnt have the same speed or stamina that he used to. Thats what time does to 99% of all players.
With that said the team is still stronger with him on the field and benefits from his intelligence. Therefore, let us hope for another good season out of this legend.

Unless we are getting a new manager who is willing to play Son as a second striker behind Solanke I don’t see where this goes. He can’t do winger anymore, our attacks regularly break down when he gets the ball, his control and link play isn’t of the level we need and the odd moment of magic doesn’t fix how it affects our overall play.
Son is a legend of the club but with Ange I don’t see the point next season, if he is going to be stuck hard out wide. If we get a new manager who will play 352 or 4231 and have Son playing a free role behind Solanke where he can use his great finishing then I can see a future.
We have 3 players who tactically don’t fit. Son, Johnson and Tel. None of them are suitable as out and out wingers which we need for Ange system.

He is not finished but he has lost a yard of pace and playing as an out and out winger doesn’t fit him certainly not no more. He needs to play close to the main striker which is not Ange’s system.
Ange isn't going to be here beyond this season.
That fine but I think we will have 3 players in Son Tel and Johnson all after one role. For example Poch system would have them in a Dele Alli style role. So we are short wingers but over cooked in second strikers. Club needs to carefully align the players and the manager next season.
- Don't sign Tel permanently
- Fuck Brennan Johnson off back to a Forest for 30m or so
- I'd extend Son for a season on reduced wages and have him in the squad. He's still useful for the moments he can produce.
