It’s inevitable that our handsome Argentine bastard will move in at some point, but despite the media rhetoric I’m not sure it’ll be to United.

He’s been linked with the Madrid job and still with us, and Madrid is a more attractive prospect than United. However, both United and Madrid are far riskier prospects; no guarantee of success despite the “higher” prestige and he could be out of work rapidly without success. At us he has stability, and a project that’s evolving.

I have no doubt that when he feels three nowhere else to go that he will move on, probably when Madrid, or more likely, PSG are too tempting. I suspect that’s some way off, though. He’s a smart and sensible man.

Was impressed with his Girona side and I've been continuously impressed with his Sevilla side who look to be challenging Barcelona for the La Liga trophy this season.

I don't know if we'd take a gamble on anyone outside of the big leagues though. Otherwise I'd like to think we'd potentially be looking at van Bommel, Gallardo, Marco Rose etc.

I think by the time Poch leaves us though, he'd have raised our profile so high that we will be getting in a proven high profile manager who can transition seamlessly into the job.

I'd argue that he has already raised our profile enough that finding a "big" name manager to take over the day he does end up leaving won't be a big issue. Tottenham is now one of the more interesting manager jobs in football. It will attract equal parts young up and comers wanting to be the "next Poch". And equal parts established top brass managers the day the spot is open.

We won't have to settle for a Tony Pulis appointment

Surely all this talk about who might be “our next manager” or what managers are out there should be merged into one thread and put in General Football?

A manager getting sacked at another football club is nothing to do with us. Until the day comes that our manager says he is leaving, these topics should not be under chat for THFC imo.
