And that's about right.

Tension was obvious, but that's the case for all the teams down there.

For a player like Van De Ven,to not consider in quick time far better to let the player through but stay on is just another example of cluttered thinking.

Tudor might have chosen the players and formation for varying reasons but we had gone one ahead and were nearing half-time.

If after the Liverpool match we aren't in the bottom 3, I'm still hopeful.

For me Leeds are definitely there to be drawn into that bottom 3, even more than West Ham. Forest, might depend on their European campaign.

This is not over.
Even if we are in the bottom 3 after Liverpool it’s not over.

It might look bleak but it won’t be over.

It will improve but it may be too little too late, which seems to sum up the club now.
It's already too late, IMO.

There's absolutely nothing left in this squad.
We do not look like a football team.

I class myself as a very poor player. Happy to run about, can score tap ins, can't tackle for shit, awful first touch.

I'd say I'd fit right in with our squad.

They were getting in behind us constantly. I'd have been surprised to win even with 11.

I think we deserved the lead tbh

We were lucky on the offside but that was more from a human error than just them getting in behind.

The goal and Tel’s shot were the two best chances before the red card. And VDV is an idiot because Sarr wasn’t getting to the ball before Vicario.

My feeling at 1-0 was the crowd were firmly in the game and we were on track to win the game. My guess is that’s why Tudor says he believes more than he did before and also because we largely created the best chances in the second half with 10 men. Even if the reality is Palace were sitting off and preserving energy

The big issue was that 15 min collapse after the red. They did the same after the RKM disallowed goal vs woolwich and after the Jiimenez push before the Fulham goal

These players - and tbh us fans - can’t just wait for the refereeing decisions to “even out”. They aren’t going to and if they keep quitting every time a big decision goes against them, then we are 100% going down because they will go against us in every game from now until the end of the season.

It’s not going to even out over the season, they have to do it themselves.

Of course it's not over but the team is bottom of the form table, they are woefully out of form and lacking confidence. After Liverpool there are 8 games left and we will probably need at least 3 wins from those 8 to have any chance of staying up, and one of those is at Chelsea which is a guaranteed loss.

So 3 wins from 7 games. ......the team is where they are because they no longer have the ability to win games and yet we are expecting them to suddenly win nearly half of our remaining games. It's almost impossible.

Form can change.

And the good thing is that we don’t need the form to change radically enough to get top 4 or a title push, we need mid table form from a squad that’s upper mid table when everyone is fit,

One result changes the mood and flow in minutes.

But,stating the obvious, something needs to click/change.

I will be surprised if we are bottom 3 after the weekend's games of 21/3, hence my comment about goal difference.

There were no surprises at the posters who laughed when I said that was the one positive from the score not being worse than 1-3, with 10 men.

I put money some West Ham fans were lamenting the lack of added Palace goals.

Amazing though. Tudor is whatever but it was obvious Frank didn't have what was needed. Give Tudor all of January's window. Time to assess the squad, the characters. Then he has a chance to recommend 2 or 3 plsyers.

Nope, sell Johnson (no replacement), keep an utterly useless Muani, buy a left back and Gallagher (fine), but get 2 or 3 more. Use your financial clout. Nope.

It's self-inflicted at every juncture. That's why no one will be to blame other than ourselves, even if there is a weird, quite pernicious bias towards this club.

I genuinely feel that, and hold specific views on why that may be, which would serve to politicise matters, and this is not the right place for that.

We have made an awful management appointment and can’t beat the teams near us.
These things matter in a relegation battle.

We have to hope come the end of the season Everton are safe and Leeds are safe and we have two games where the teams we play have absolutely nothing on the line.

You just can’t lose your 6 pointer relegation battles and hope to stay up.
If we had of beaten West Ham the league would look very different right now.
Even just a draw with Forest away rather than a 3-0 loss changes things.

Forest at home is going to be the litmus test. Fail that one things are properly bleak.

Just don't get why we can not keep it simple when every player is lacking confidence and run around like headless chicken.

Got to the basics and play something every player knows about. A simple 4-2-3-1...

Get rid of this bloke. On paper I didn't mind the 11 players he chose to start but the way he arranged them was dumb as fuck and worthy of the sack. 3 losses, 9 goals conceded.

I would take Ryan Mason over him at this point. We need a club man in charge, not a random janitor from Serie A. We need to play simple football with players in their right positions not this complicated 352 with RBs at CB and CDMs at RWB. The players are under enough pressure as it is.

Good post.

Romero has to do a captain's job on his return.

It's on his shoulders and on Van De Ven when he also returns from his self-imposed ban.

It’s like this guy rocked up having never seen a second of us play, and the only people to give him info on the club were suits from the board that don’t even watch the game. the formations and positions he has players in is absolute nonsense. I wasn’t exactly enthusiastic when I heard he was a 352 guy but this is nuts.
He will definitely get us relegated. The players have no idea (less than before) what they are doing. This lot need something very simple and to go through the basics again. They need to be playing in their best position for a start.
I doubt this guy has even spoken to the youth coaches either.
The catalogue of fuck ups in the last year are so profound, it’s almost as if it’s on purpose. is there actually a financial benefit for the Lewis’s if we get relegated. Have they bet everything on us going down?
