Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s a strange one because really the way the players rotated positions moved off each other was like a team that’s played together under coach running a sophisticated system but Tudor told us he wasn’t installing a system and really just wanted them to run more and play for each other like a team.

Maybe it looks like a sophisticated system but it’s more that the players are figuring each other out in pairs and 3’s all over the pitch.

One thing I was told about Tudor is that his football knowledge is legitimately elite … so who fucking knows?

Like you said, strap in and enjoy the ride
The formation will change from a 3 to 4 at the back depending on where the ball is. It’s not complicated but so many try to find ways to spice it up. Formations all interchange into other formations constantly but we did start with a back 3. Porro played higher in possession which meant Kolo moved just off the left centre back and Xavi was free. It would have been hard for Atletico to counter this because it changed instantly when we never had the ball. I really liked it and Tudor seems very clever. It made us so aggressive in the press and we picked up so many loose passes and second balls.

I get that it changes based on where the ball is.

There was definitely players rotating and swapping, Tel and Xavi for sure. Dragusin at RB or VDV at LB depending etc.

Overall it’s more of a 4-4-2 than Tudor’s early team selections

Needs to figure out a way to give us genuine width on the left-side. Severely hamstrung with Spence at LB

It's a trade off though isn't it? Souza will definitely help attacking wise but is nowhere near the defender that Spence is at this stage of his career. I just think it's too big a risk throwing the kid in at LB with the defensive responsibilities he'll carry.

Oddly enough I quite liked Tudor playing Souza at RW and tracking back to help Porro out.

And the context is...we were out of the competition.

I could understand if we won by 4 goals and were through - that would be worth celebrating.

We were knocked out by a team that, bar the absolute calamity that was last week, we probably could have beaten.

Oh and we're also still in a relegation battle. What's there to celebrate?!

I genuinely love how he ruffles the knickers of all the journos/pundits just because he doesn't give a shit what they want him to do.

Most of them are just trouble making.

Any news on Sherwood's thoughts on him now I wonder saying since he has been appointed he has repeatedly sticking the knife in. Quite this week though funnily enough. Let's hope we dont have to hear from him for the foreseeable.

Problem is TV cameras just focus on the ball and what’s happening around it. So you tend to just see what’s happening in reaction to the ball on TV.

Unless you’re at the game following all the players out of possession and pretty much ignoring the ball you’re never really going to know.
But it was pretty clear Dragusin and Spence were playing in quite traditional FB roles at points yesterday.

I’ve been most pleased to see Simons more central. Tel and Spence teaming up on the left wing and at times yesterday a clear attacking shape of 3-1 with tel, Simons and Porro being the 3. (Muani the 1 of course)

Porros chance (great save) was a perfect example of Simons having that freedom in the middle with tel and Porro providing options.
Great movement from Muani and then Porro and Simon’s are 2v1 against their centre back. Beautiful.

Would that all change if Solanke and Richarlison are both fit and he goes to a more traditional 4-4-2?? Who knows.

I’m just strapping in for the ride now. Hopefully a good result on Sunday and Tudor can go into the international break a happy man.

This is what terrified me when I was at the Palace game. Our players attitudes and desire was bad. Last night I was there again and it was chalk and cheese. I'm hoping it isnt just because it is in the Champions League and they will show the fight again on the pitch Sunday. But I dont think it is as cut and dried as many think. I still need to see more consistency from this lot now.

Bit by bit he seems to be getting a sense of belief and purpose back into the squad. That's what we needed. So big tick.

Vicario in his post match interview on TNT spoke about the players having better endurance now.

So were they under trained under Frank or did the players themselves absolve themselves of responsibility of their own fitness? Suppose footballers will always find a way of doing the bare minimum unless they are super professional like Kane for example.

Yes that was a glaring admission

And their work environment is centred around instatarts burning their time to create "content".

Just what they don't need.

last night looked like hes told them a few home truths and gray in particular has been given a confidence rocket. i like him, hes firm and no nonsense, football needs these type of blokes back, the games gone far too soft.

if he can get muani playing to his best we have a player too!

We should sue them back. I wouldn't allow Tudor to be punished. Refuse the ban or the fine. Tell them to fuck off and apologise for their shit decisions.

Its time to fight back against this ridiculous agenda. I'm sick of it. Leave Tudor alone! The media and now the PGMOL going after him. Just fuck off
