Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

  • The rather unfortunate/almost comical elimination from Europe vs Spurs – they were pushing for a late goal, despite apparently a desperate, on the pitch, Tudor telling the team that a draw would get them the Europa League, and conceded to Spurs in what was dubbed the match of the year. This has cost them about 17 million Euros.

Well, it is where we now are. Just need to get behind the big guy now and hope he can win some players over and then some games.

Have the club even officially announced it?

Not yet.

I'm sure they'll do it as soon as they find out who is in charge of that kind of thing, after Lange has stopped crying so Vinai can delegate it to him.

Indifferent to him, all he needs to do is get us of the hole we are in. I know nothing about him and couldn't care less who we could and maybe should have got, he's here now.

He might be good he might be shit but I am not sure 3 at the back is worse than 433 considering our lack of wingers.

3 at the back we have Palhinha, Dragusin, Romero, VDV, Byfield, Bissouma and Gray who are either CB’s or have played that role. We currently don’t have any out and out wingers available so any 433 we have minimal width.

3 at the back also allows us to play Porro and Souza as wing backs to generate width and thus our 3 forwards Xavi, Solanke and Tel can play more central. 343 or 352 might be simply not doable than 433 due to our injury crisis.
Yeah I agree. Dragusin always looks like a liability to me in a back 2 but has done well in a back 3 for Genoa and Romania and I think it suits Romero and VdV quite nicely too.

Also think playing a bit more centrally suits players like Tel, Xavi, RKM rather than shunting them right out on the wing as we often saw under Frank.

Hopefully Porro's back soon. Also suits him ofc.

I'm willing to bet that almost any appointment at this stage would split the fan-base. Even Lord Poch.

Risky pulling in an unproven Prem manager? Sure is. It could go well, it could go badly. But our side has lacked an identity and front-foot identity for so long now, I just want to see the team giving it a go again from the off. Igor might be the guy we need to do that for a while.

It wasn't who I was expecting. But I'm going to be full Igor if he gets the points we need this season to stay safe. And if he does, I'll be changing my avatar in his honour.
I have think we have to do the Poch thing now just to finally get over him. Like that last shag.

If it was up to me I wouldn't back but he feels inevitable at this point.

It was more that he either quits or gets sacked abruptly
Yeah even if against all odds he absolutely smashes it and we go on a great run, we cannot give this guy the permanent job.

Hes like Conte on fast-mode. Often starts really well but doesn't even make it to the 2nd season at most clubs.

Think there's almost no chance they give it to him though. And if they do at least that means we haven't been relegated!

No official announcement as yet, some nonsense on the club website about a lady player being back in contention.

Anyway, I can’t defend this expected announcement anymore than anyone else, but also as much as I would like to accuse these folks of being utter dimwits. They can’t and won’t be that stupid.

There must be a reason why he was suggested by Paratici in November and why he’s been carried forward now. His win % overall is higher than Frank and might well have more about him than it appears. Football is a very small industry and he must have some credibility to have been at Juventus etc.

Clutching at Straws.

Who'd you have gotten out of interest
Probably tried for Maresca...loads of PL experience...He would have had respect from the players and the fans and we would stay up...
Of course this is only my personal opinion...lots of others will disagree I know. He says he's taking a break I know but I'm positive an offer from us would have changed his mind...
And if not him, Glasner or Iraola...
This bloke wasn't on anybody's radar on TFC and his CV is more suited to everton or leeds or Spam...again, just my opinion..

It's 100% a ploy to get the supporters on their side. Very few fans are going to complain about Poch being appointed or call for his head when we play poorly. I don't believe Vinai and co. actually believe Poch is the best manager available who'll sign with us.

What the board and ENIC don't realize is that the anger will be directed right at them when things go south. Frank was a useful patsy because he distracted everyone from the real problem at the club.
It be purely a popularity appointment...

The plan is obviously poch in summer if we were only in the market for interim managers

None of those guys are coming as interims though. And I think Glasner and Iraola would both prefer to wait until the summer rather than joining this binfire mid-season.

Even Maresca's been linked to some big jobs. Think he might prefer to wait until the summer too to survey his options even if we wanted him now on a permanent deal.

Just reading the BBC have your say page... so many criticising the appointment. Now I know they are mostly rival fans putting the boot in, but the common trend is that he doesn't have any PL experience. I'm actually glad he doesn't. Frank had tons of PL experience and how did that work out? Then look at Slot... no PL experience, wins the PL, now he has PL experience his team are shite. Le Bris, no PL experience but you wouldn't know it... I don't think PL experience makes any difference... quality of player, injuries, luck... there are so many other parameters that will determine how we finish this season... 4 wins... that's all he needs... I'll be backing him!!!
Simply put, he's going to be out of his depth with no experience in the PL, it sounds like an Ange type appointment....

I agree. And it feels like the Summer is the moment to find out if it was right to go back. On the plus side, a big part of the fan base will feel there's someone back in the seat that loves the Club and the fans again. And we desperately need to feel a connection with the Club again.

Mind you, what happens if Igor comes in and surprises us all with more wins than even we hope for? The Club has a decision to make then.
