Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not to mention, he hasnt exactly pulled up any trees at being a MANAGER since he left us.

Im not seeing anyone bake this into their opinions as to whether or not they want him back.
What chance did Poch stand at PSG trying to get the ego’s upfront to press which is fundamental to his tactics?

When he went to the chavs he inherited a car crash of a squad after their scattergun buy every promising player strategy. However towards the end of the season (before he fell out with the board) he had them playing very well and players like Palmer were pissed off when he left.

The fixtures are arguably good. Igor gets 3 games now to prove he can turn the corner, a draw against Liverpool or even close defeat playing well and good performances against Athletico will show we are going in the right direction. Anything less and he can be sacked with 8 games to fix it.

Obviously…

We’ve been losing loads of games. My point is we’ve not even been in positions to win games. Only desperate attempts to save them.

A lot of it was Franks game model of trying to be passive and keep it tight for 70mins then win it in the last 20.
I supported Frank but his mentality did a lot of damage to the team. Everyone loses but the way he'd talk about it was wrong.

Obviously it isn't his fault we were poor last season. But as a manager you're supposed to try to instill a winning mentality. This guy used our poor form last season to protect himself from criticism.

Next 3 games we'll figure out which approach the players need.

Do they need someone who will tell them and the whole world how shit they are. Or do they need someone to lie and treat them like children to get some confidence in the team.

In our last 74 Premier League games, we have 73 points. Averaging less than a point a game.

We've been in relegation form since April 2024. This is just their level

His appointment was done following a corporate structure that overrated data analysis and the ability of people who don’t know football well enough to understand how to recruit a manager,

Vinai harping on about his 20 step recruitment process when really he just thought that he could copy Arteta with terrorist football built on passive mid blocks, set pieces and not passing through the middle of the pitch to mitigate the risk of counter attacks

They thought they could take a squad built for attacking football and change it completely in one window but also stick to the drip feed transfer model of squad building where you don’t make wholesale changes.

Frank was the biggest disaster in my lifetime as a Spurs fan

Aaand like you said, the worst fit was mentality. You don’t tell players like VDV and Romero who are built mentally to try and dominate that they need to sit passively and contain like Brentford

It does make the lack of improvement since he has gone bizzare though. I guess Romero hasnt been there in those games though to push the weak willed players on. I posted this the other day but will again because you and I both know what Kane is talking about here is exactly what is going on on the pitch now. Maybe Romero coming back improves that.

You can imagine what it would be like if he tried to get our lot to press!!

Yup, like I said, not that impressive.

His time in thw US is also fraught with criticism.

People have a romanticised view of him, great.

We dont have the players he had at our disposal when he was last here, it wont be the same and everyone is going to be bitterly disappointed if it happens.

Amazing that we STILL suck at first and second balls since then.

Correct so the players are fully to blame. I hated Frank because he tried to bullshit fans and was deluded and that’s why I wanted him gone. Ange had to go because we finished 17th but there was always an argument for him staying because he won something. Tudor is getting serious stick after 3 games. The players are not adapting to anything and that’s all on them. After athletico games and Liverpool we will see exactly what these pea hearts are all about. Time for them to get their fingers out in games we should be winning.

People keep blaming the manager, but at some point you have to look at the players. Shit attitude, lacking professionalism, and their football intelligence is shockingly poor for this level.
I agree with that, and for me, it all comes down to due dilligence when making signings. How many signings over the past 5-10 years have got us really excited? We just sign over-rated, over-valued, injury-prone, inconsistent, bad-attitude, non-Prem suited players. They don't all fit all those criteria, but most of our signings have turned out this way.

Spurs recruitment has been terrible, with so much money wasted, by someone we kept on referring to as a 'shrewd businessman'. Levy sanctioned just about all of them, and he and ENIC are why we are in this mess.

Until we start buying quality top-4 players, we aren't getting anywhere near top 4. Man U did it inside 1 season and got in the right temp manager. How come we always makes decisions look like rocket-science???
