There’s three very good statues around Portman Road that are worth a look if you can - all by the same artist. We’re not talking Ronaldo levels of qualityBeen to ipswich before. Theres a statue of the late Sir Bobby Robson outside ground and worth a look. One of Englands greatest Managers and nicest blokes in football.

The Robson one is good, but probably the worst of the three, carry on a bit further down Portman Road and you’ll come across the Sir Alf Ramsey and Kevin Beattie bronze works. They’re excellent. With the Beattie one in flight for a header, shin pads and Adidas logos stand out… it’s I think the best I’ve seen in the UK. He was an amazing Town and England player who had it all, who unfortunately had his career cut short.
Remember Kevin Beattie very well , like you say , was an excellent young playerThere’s three very good statues around Portman Road that are worth a look if you can - all by the same artist. We’re not talking Ronaldo levels of quality.

Domineering centre back who could pass like a creative mid, and shoot thunderb@stard goals like a striker - Robson said he was the best player he’d ever seen, and he saw a few! Shame it ended so early, then the demon drink. Was starting quite the England career.Remember Kevin Beattie very well , like you say , was an excellent young player

Huge player for you - 226 starts at right back, 24 goals. Won you promotion from second division, straight to champions of England. Scored a wunder goal with a 40yd run beating multiple players. Learnt the push and run style at Spurs that was a first for England and probably became Spurs identity. Took that style/system into managing Ipswich who won the title form nowhere and blew teams away.Re : Sir Alf Ramsey statue .
Nice of ITFC to recognise a Spurs Great : classy .

I've been to Ipswich when I was a 20 hated it - I remember a lot of Ipswich players in the movie with Pele with Sly Stallone![]()
This guy pretty much helped transition the game into something new 'Push-n-Run' techniques are now a staple. the good ol 1-2...Huge player for you - 226 starts at right back, 24 goals.
