Righto. I work under CIS too, but had a company name previously. Didn't trade for a year, as I worked in IR35 ( don't ever do that btw, you get absolutely slaughtered by the taxman if your earnings are over £100K). They then closed my company down, frozen my business banking account and took everything in it! Luckily enough I only had a couple of grand, but they make it almost impossible for you to get it back.Self-employed, different (technically what is called a sole trader). Although I am also a director of a company so am very familiar with Companies House. The issue has meant I have been unable to file self assessment as well but no biggie, I will get it done.
I am also employed so rebates often are a possibility. Those who have to make a "payment on account" will know what I mean. Although my dad did tell me you don't have to pay what it says, you can call them up and change it.
I'll never go registered company again, CIS is by far the best way IMO.
