Do you really think that his input will have ANY influence on winning this game? As so many posters have remarked, "win despite him"
Well he'll be picking the team and making the substitutions, setting the formation. Or do you think the players will just pick themselves and play any formation they feel like?

Should we not blame him if we lose?

Well as we know from experience that he's crap at picking teams and crap at substitutions and formation..
Sure but if the players win this competition playing Postecoglou's formation, his player selection, his substitutions, then he deserves some credit for the team winning a trophy.

It would only be if the players ignored him and did what they want, played 3 at the back or whatever, and won whilst behaving that way then yes, under that circumstance no credit to Postecoglou.

I said exactly this in an earlier post....

I can't help feel that whomever we get, it's not going to work, on the simple basis of the number of times it hasn't worked before.

It’s the law of numbers ; if you buy a trillion lottery tickets and still lost : you’d be very very unlucky indeed ;alternatively you could be my friend Dan who gets a hundred thousand Lucky Dips for a tenner from a friend of his who owns a printing works in Basildon . And he’s not won a cent either - despite his considerable “ investment “ .

But he’s not that bothered , for some inexplicable reason.

Is a manager's run sustainable with a toxic relationship with the fans. My guess is whether he wins a trophy or doesn't that he has burned too many bridges. A very odd character.

Well, it's an odd situation.

If he wins Europa - we get a major trophy and champions league football next season. For the club, that makes him a huge success and arguably exceeds all expectations.

The players relationship with the fans has been poor for quite some time. We all of course remember Dier climbing into the stands for a fight.

I'm not sure there is any example anywhere in the world where fan negativity has helped the team. Booing every backwards and sideways pass, booing substitutions - that only serves to lower the on pitch performance.

Protest the owners. Protest the board. But support the players and the coaching staff - they really are doing their best under the circumstances.

Players pick up on the manager's attitudes and I'm concerned that will impact how the players view fans. That matters because you want players to feel connected to the history of the club and for fans to vocally support the players during the match. People will argue right and wrong, but the situation with Postecoglou has definitely become toxic.

I actually think Ange stays if we win Europa, and as much as I can’t stand him I would accept it on the basis he’s sacked next season when we inevitably struggle under him.
