Well if it makes you feel any better, we're not exactly spoiled for left wingers at the moment. It's not at all clear to me that buying Depay would be at the expense of Chadli; much more likely one of Lennon or Townsend, imo.
i was more getting at the expense of chadli in the first 11. Cant c depay coming to us to warm the bench, conversely dont see any reason to drop chadli ether..
problem is, i think depay may be a potential worldie and by next summer well out of reach..

Maybe. Haven't watched much (read: any) of the kid, so I don't feel qualified to comment, but predicting the next big thing out of the Eredivisie has always been a discouraging roll of the dice.

true, kuyt springs to mind...
I do have to concede that I havent actually watched depay play live but he does seem to have all the attributes of a potentially top PL player; strength, pace, ability to dribble and a wicked right foot..

If we sign a striker, unless we want to stunt Kane's development it needs to be someone happy to play second fiddle. Therefore I cannot see us signing Bony, Berahino, Benteke or anyone along those lines. I suspect if anyone we'll be looking at players like say Jelavic.

We have in quite a few games played two strikers, Kane and Soldado have often played together it's just soldado ain't been doing good enough imo to warrant a starting place. Kane is actually more experienced as a number 10 than a number 9.

So if we bought say benteke we would most likely just play Kane behind him. We also are in four competitions so we need at least two possible three good forwards, we have been lucky with injury so far this season.

The star are reporting that we have an interest for 22 year Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep, we are fighting for his signature with Stoke, never heard of him apparently he is a good prospect but he isn't really the ligue 1 forward I was thinking about but he could be a decent back up to Kane

This was the line of thinking I expressed earlier in the thread. Kane is undoutbaly our starting forward, so we need a player happy to sit on the bench and play cup games or when Kane is injured/rested.

If the Rabiot deal is only a loan hopefully they can get it done quickly to maximise the time we've got him available.
We lose Bentaleb to the AFCON this week don't we?
