Transfers January 2018 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There are two types of players that i want at the club. A david silva type who is great technically and can put a through ball on a dime - i think lamela could fit this role tbh. And a sane type winger. We have sonny who is great but getting nkoudou up to speed or finding an alternative would be awesome.

EDIT: these scream summer transfers though and i won't be disappointed to not see these sorts of purchases made in January. I think gkn could be great on the right, just as sane is on the left. Especially with eriksen making passes on the counter, just as kane sis for son yesterder or de bruyne for sane on saturday

I wouldn't be overly bothered whether we signed Barkley or not to be honest.

I would be happy to see us finally sign Kieran Tierney though, I accept it'll most likley be a loan back for the remainder of the season however, he would be a cracking signing.

We’re better without Bale than we were with him, no? And he’s now muscle bound and crocked. He’s not the player we sold to those cunts. Fuck him.

Know what you’re saying....but he’d be an asset. Saying that, if it’s an injury-prone flexible forward to add depth to the title challenge, then Sturridge would be a lot cheaper and is younger too.

I think the extra dimensions Winks has added to his game have kind of rendered Barkley a luxury signing now. I saw Pocchettino playing him deeper, but now with Dier finding his form again, plus Dele and Eriksen proving to be a valid options in an orthodox midfield role (and don’t forget Onomah to come back) he isn’t really needed.

Tierney is class, but I see him at United eventually; Sessegnon replacing Rose in the summer then alternating with Davies makes sense, and you can’t rule out Pocch relishing the challenge of resurrecting Luke Shaw’s career.

I don’t think so, and have you seen Sturridge play recently? He offers nothing. I don’t want these crocked cast offs, but it doesn’t matter what I want. I know that.

Maybe Poch could improve Bale......

Can't see us getting Barkley or any other first teamers this window
One of the many issues with signing Bale, outside the cost, is his injury history coupled with the apparent struggles of our medical staff - another reason against a Barkley or Sturridge deal.

Can't see Levy looking at our recent issues rehabbing players and deciding to commit money to a player likely to land on the training table.

Between Lamela, Rose, and Wanyama there seems to be a worrying trend of misdiagnosis, bringing players back to training too soon, or being hesitant to push forward with necessary treatments/surgeries and therefore delaying the inevitable. Maybe what we need to buy in January are some MDs rather than MFs.

No January transfers unless injuries hit us hard or the right player crops up. I can maybe see an 18 year old coming in for £5m from a club like Bolton or something, similar to the Alli situation.

Next summers targets

Meyer - free (youthful competition for Eriksen)
Barkley - free (competition for Del Boy)
Sessegnon - £20m (Rose replacement)
Dembele 2.0 - £30m (Winksy is class but we would 100% need another CM in there if Mousa is cream crackered)

Flog Rose for £50m and it's another shit hot window with next to nothing being spent.

Scout South America hard for Llorentes replacement to come in during the Jan 2019 window, ideally for a new nippy option off the bench and depending on Toby's situation potentially a new defender although I think we'll sort it and he'll end up staying. I'd take that for our transfer dealings all day long. So many options for the gaffer to nurture and utilise as well as preserving our stability should an Eriksen or Alli pull a Walker this year

Mahrez will be attractive.Proven and offers very good alternative to Alli and Eriksen. A little similar to Son in terms of pace, but a better dribbler. Score goals as well. We have been very lucky the Alli, Eriksen and Son have been injury free. I will love the idea of Kane, Son and Mahrez up front, with Alli or Eriksen deeper. Speed machine! Just my opinion
