Transfers January 2018 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Already happening. This tweet from Winter is unbelievable, don’t ever recall such before for any other club selling one of their best players. The 2nd to last sentence is pure cringe.

Pass me the bucket, I think I'm going to spew.

Another thing I despise about modern football; the fucking media especially those that line-up to kiss the arse of the Big 5.*

*They invented the Big 6 purely because we have finished above most of their favourites the past couple of years. If we finish 6th they'll be back calling it a Big 5. Wankers.

Renato Sanches -take a punt. Not the finish player. Seems to be struggling at the Swansea rather than not being good enough. Remember him from the Euros, he had his moments . Poxh could work his magic on him, he may have potential.

So according to this logic we can never sign anyone decent? Notwithstanding players like Eriksnen, Toby, Wanayama, Dele which are now ‘undroppable’ all came in as squad conver initially. Quite possbly the most stupid thing I’ve ever read on here. If you’re good enough - you’ll earn your spot

Dele cant be dropped though even when poor you said, which means yet again, you've gone full circle and contradicted yourself

You're still going on about that shit. What's the fucking point? What are you trying to prove? What will it take for you to shut up about it?!

Ffs.

Someone tells me a player can never be dropped even when playing poorly.

I later say that some players in the team are undroppable.

That person then tells me that is the most stupid thing he's ever read.

I point out that he has contradicted himself.

Now fuck off, I will post want the fuck I want and if you don't like it, don't read it. Prick

Ha, what a twat. Fucking tedious man but you know what, knock yourself out I'll just ignore your shite from now on seeing as you haven't got anything interesting to post and have no intention of ever doing so.

Bye!

Oh....no.....please dont. I'll miss all the debates we've never had and posts you made that I dont even recall.
Who even are you?

Oh, he's gone

Any signings I would want wouldn't come in and improve us until the summer anyway. So I'd rather just not weaken ourselves by selling.

I remember in the summer having numerous debates with hundreds of posters about how we had fucked up the window by "leaving it too late"....

"New players need a pre season!!!!!" They cried
"They will take months to settle!!!!" They whined
"They have to learn the system!!!!" They shouted
"They need to bed in!!!!!" They insisted

I pointed to VDV among others as players who came late and played like they had been here for years.

"Thats the exception to the rule!!! Levy has fucked the window, we should sign our targets in early July!!!"

And now, here they all are, creaming over signings who will have no pre season, no bedding in, no time to learn the system, no time to settle.

But suddenly, these players will just hit the ground running, be totally at home at Spurs, maybe even in a new country for them, and fire us to our targets regardless.

TFC, the gift that keeps on giving

Whatever transfer model we employ at the current juncture we can attract second tier talent without a doubt.

I for one am sick of the need to be paying 5 million a year upwards to keep or attract talent that is deemed to be from that top level.

But if players have proved tbeir worth, if they have shown they can cope with the demands of being at a club like ours, then it becomes a matter of a club justifying why they won't pay that level of salary.

We have 4/5 players in my opinion who can rightly expect to be paid more and any targets from the top tier deserve similar, which is why we won't get them.

But when you see any football club paying 140 million poinds for a football player, not including what will be huge wages I struggle to reconcile that and my view of the world.

I hope we never get to the point where anyone thinks it is okay to even pay 50 million pounds for a player.

Honestly it becomes immoral.

It is immoral. How can anyone kicking a ball around earn 10x more in a week than a nurse does in a year? But that’s how it is & until something changes drastically then it will continue to go on an upward spiral. I can say with no shadow of a doubt that on current trends, we will be spending more than £50 million on a player within the next 18 months & nobody will bat an eyelid if it’s a top quality signing. Ffs, we paid £30 million for Sissoko & £42 million for Sanchez. I reckon that our next big signing of an established player will top £50 million.
It’s obscene, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles

I might be crazy but I’m actually beginning to believe it might be Bale coming back this summer.

Reports suggest it’s going to be a big signing, and we have firs refusal. He could play anywhere along the front four, including up front.

Watch it end up being a 34 year old Tevez

I do think it’s possible. Just slightly though as his wages are bound to be an issue.

The “big” signing will probably be the return of Crouchie.
