Get he impression now he's deadwood. A shame. He has potential.
Just don't think it's the right sort of potential. Defenders might not hit their peak until their late 20s, but let's not pretend they get nimbler, faster and less clumsy as they get older. CCV might well make a great CB in an old-school 4-4-2 set-up, but I just can't see him cutting it as a Toby/Jan/Sanchez replacement.

So Sanchez goes to United. That means, Lukaku, Ibra, Sanchez, Martial and Rashford. If I were Rashford I'd be looking to get out of there pronto if he wants to develop into the player he can be.

I'd love us to go in for him but I can't see them selling to us but something has got to give with their attackers. They can't be happy.

Yea, Imagine Sanchez's signing was the death blow. We also have Tanganga coming through who is meant to be very good. So CCV probably won't be missed.

Matthew Syed is no fool
I watched the Matthew Syed one because I like him from Press Preview. Agree he’s a really bright bloke with his finger on the pulse & even if I disagree with a point he makes, he always makes a strong argument.
However, in that interview, he says that RA didn’t buy it to turn a profit... he invested in a high profile UK asset simply to stop Putin from reclaiming his wealth which was fraudulently obtained by a dodgy deal with Yeltsin
I take great pleasure in that argument because it suggests that once RA thinks he’s in the clear with the Russian authorities, he will be having all his money out of the club, loans & all.
Bloke is a crook, but a clever one.

I generally find Syed to be a great listen. He rather soured that with the whole Aluko issue. Of which he's yet to apologise.

Yep. His take on that was very surprising from the off. And the decent thing to do would have been to immediately apologise the moment the facts were confirmed. However, I do find him to be a very articulate & persuasive journalist in the main.

Are we honestly spending today arguing over whether Roman Abramovic will want something back from the massive investment he has made into Chelsea?

You don't become a fucking billionaire by throwing away your money. Of course he intends to claim back every single fucking penny he's invested into Chelsea and then some.

Some news on Lucas:

- PSG and his agent are desperate to get him out on loan with an obligation to buy
- earns 80k a week, so it's not our of our range
- eligible to play CL for us (instead of Foyth)
- player has been told he is not playing any role in the future

All in all he would be a great option to bring from the bench. Still doubting we will get him. Probably going to land in China at the end of the window.

Lucas Moura excites me. Adds that bit of pace and trickery that we lack (besides Sonny) he also didn’t play a minute of CL football for them so presumably isn’t CL tied.

Links in the summer, contact with Aurier? Here’s hoping

Sell for what price though? A billion? Forget it.......once the stadium is built, they´ll owe him 2 billion
Stadium will most likely be paid same as hours - more valuable land too

Not sure but he certainly won't sell for free and I certainly don't believe he was in to profit much

Anyway - back on topic - our financial model means little if we still cannot compete against the very rich - interesting to see what difference the stadium makes

Would love this to be true. If so, then it could be the World Cup. Isn't Putin leaning on RA to help out with the billions for stadium builds? Maybe he'll be in the clear after that.

But then why go down the route of redeveloping Slumford Bridge.

If L'Equipe is to be believed we appear to be his preferred destination. Should be a plus in any negotiation.

I'd imagine he's redeveloping Stamford Bridge as it will allow him to sell the club for more money, it will also allow him to recoup his investment faster through ticket sales. Much the same reason we want a bigger stadium, only we intend to invest that money back into our squad one day. Or Levy and Joe Lewis, depending on who you are.
