Transfers January 2018 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This is the problem we will have. Any striker knows he is going to be a bench warmer for probably the best CF in world football at present.
There isn’t even much scope for “competition” for places with Harry. While he keeps banging them in, he will play. So any ambitious player will look at Spurs & think “fuck that” because the only hope of game time is through injury or suspension. Fighting for a starting spot against Kane is nigh on impossible. He is just that good that he won’t be left on the bench. Christ, he even started against Newport.
We are therefore likely to be left with players like Llorente who don’t mind picking up a pay cheque for a couple of hours exercise a day.

True, except Poch has said, and shown that he wants to play Kane with a partner striker. All it needs is someone who believes they are good enough to come here and be that player. Yes, they'll get rotated with other forwards to a degree but if they keep playing well, scoring, assisting then they will play. Is no one willing to back themselves?

It seems not. Our default set up is with a lone striker which is always going to be Kane. We have Son on the left & hopefully Moura to do the same job on the right. If this comes off, we will be absolutely lethal going forward. We have the creativity of Eriksen, the mercurial talents of Dele & behind them (when all fit) a formidable defensive line up. Dier/Dembele/Wanyama (2 from 3) protecting the defence.
I thought Llorente would be a good fit-experienced, won things, scored plenty in a poor team at Swansea & happy to play second fiddle.
But he’s been shit when called upon in the main. His best point is that he fucked off the chavs to come to us, which he then duly ruined by cosying up with Woolwich players after they’d beaten us. I just don’t see us playing two up top because of the way our AM’s join the attack in a fluid formation.
It’s all mind boggling, but Poch seems to have it under control.

Truly incredible how many people will pay to be lied to

Rob "The Boss"
Thanks for all the donations so far everyone, they're really appreciated :) We've covered at least a month of the server costs and going on for 2 months but ideally I'd like to secure things until the end of the season which means trying to raise a similar amount again. I'll ask A&C to badger people on deadline day but it'd be great to get it all sorted before then if we can.

Sound like that's his holiday to Lanzarote sorted then..........

PS
Thing i can't understand is how that link lets you into a secure part of their forum?

I joined as well a few days back, as I kept seeing a reference to SC here... Curiosity got me.
What a mess of a site to navigate. The pop ups, just an utter mess.
Of well, at least i know that you guys refer to now :)

I still don’t understand the whole obsession with transfers really what a nonsense

All media driven shit, do Saracens RFC or Yorkshire CC fans spend the offseason constantly looking up who they may sign on an hourly basis and become obsessive to the point of seeing what transport said signings may be taking, it’s ridiculous

I may start going to restaurants 5 days before my reservation from now on and speculate when produce will arrive, where they bought it from and who the chefs may be, as that’s all really important for my night out right?

During the FA cup draw people were on the transfer thread talking about absolute shit completely oblivious, some here discuss transfers more than the actual football, what a mess it’s all become

So Jim White still hasn't replied to your DM on Twitter?...

Apparently we’re willing to let Llorente go if Chelsea bid £17m.

The only wa we should let that happen is if Batshuayi is part of the deal, or we then throw £20m at WBA for Rodriquez.

Imagine giving some strangers on the internet money (even monthly payments) because some other strangers have said that the football club that they all support may or may not be signing a player or two. Fucking hell, absolute morons.

Don't want to be pedantic, but I do think it's important that the restaurant uses good produce and has a capable chef. Otherwise I might as well go to KFC. :vdvdive:

But on your other point with the obsession with transfers: I heard Gold & Sullivan were approached by West Ham fans complaining about the lack of signings. Why aren't those West Ham fans complaining about the fact that the players they currently have aren't performing?

I know they are West Ham supporters, so we can't expect too much from them, but please, let's stop this obsession with winning the transfer window. It's not guaranteed to bring results.
