I was wrong on Martin Ødegaard in the summer, he is playing amazingly well this year apparently. RM seem heavy up top, would be £50M now I reckon if we had any interest.

Dele was pretty much he last youngster we bought - and after that Poch took over transfers.

And now Poch has gone we are linked with youngsters again. Levy's old team is back in the saddle - the ones that bought in half the team that Poch used throughout his tenure, so we might get back to a higher success rate on transfers.
Is this something you know or just your own thoughts?

In talks with Eze from QPR apparently.

I actually thought we'd signed this guy (or at least had some kind of arrangement) in the summer on a youth deal.... Obv. not but any idea who I'm confusing him with.....?

Either way.... Sign him. The pun potential is endless....

Eze does it!

We are linked with a couple of youngsters in Eze and Ferguson (WBA) plus 22 year old Bowen.

Makes sense as we could sign all 3 without being dependent upon any of the Overseas Trained players moving on - and those players don't need to move even if the club wants them too.

Eze seems more of a playmaker (replacement for Eriksen although not that similar in style) rather than a goalscoring AM (7 goals and 3 assists this season in 21 appearances, 15 goals I total at QPR in 85 matches). Developed by Chris Ramsey, late of this parish, which probably explains his high skill levels.

Eze would be great. I think that would cool the constant moaning about previously not signing Maddison and Grealish. I think Eze is pretty close to their levels...at least Grealish

Not if we can bring through some of our own.

Was there really a need to bring back Vorm? Could Whiteman or Austin not have filled that gap.

Who knows. I think we're fortunate enough that neither Whiteman or Austin has had to play yet. It's naive to think they could fill in the same way Vorm can.

KWP doesn't look good enough. Rose hopefully will be pushed out. It's not the worst idea to buy young English talent like Eze & Bowen considering the prices be floated aren't egregious

Eze? That would be quite depressing if true. Iwobi level player. The sort Everton would overpay for.

You'd think Jose had higher ambitions than that.

interesting

I thought Poch leaving squashed the chances of the move happening
Brilliant news exactly the kind of British young talent we should be all over. Get all three of the remarked deals done. The thing about the Ferguson Eze Bowen deals,is this there is little risk if we get them as in as is the case with the WBA there's little time left contract wise. Say we pay 8m for him even if he dont work out we will recoup much of that with a sale to a Epl side lower down the food chain or Championship side. Ditto if Bowen gets done at say 18 and add on's

Why are we being linked with championship players:pochwtf:

I can see a number of reasons:

- they're cheaper;
- they're easier to get than Premier League players (clubs are reluctant to sell to a direct competitor and the prices would be tremendously inflated anyway)
- they're bound to integrate faster than players from a foreign league would.

I know it was a rhetorical question, but this is part of our strategy. We're not going to break the bank for a star player when a cheaper alternative is available.

Eze is not a Jose type player. He seems a bit lazEze whenever I've seen him.

Surprising g we are being linked with so many youngsters. Tbh we have been linked a lot in recent years but havent taken a chance on many
Tel I'm delighted we are buying non Jose players because there is life after Mourinho. It may look very different too. The more I see of things post Poch the more convinced I am Levy is playing a very clever game. The average tenure of Jose is something like two years five months. Look at it this way. We are in a marriage of convenience, he brings a short intense flame that burns out in acrimony but when it does you have a few titles. We are serial trophy dodgers, even with a top coach and a good bunch of players. It's a club culture that Levy has brought Mourinho in to kill. After which he will be off to another massive job reputation restored. Then the young talent we have been collecting gets handed to Naggelsmann to build a real legacy.
