Liverpool backed their manager they said.....

:pochfacepalm:
Not sure what this means. Klopp has been backed...to the hilt. And I wouldn't say he's gone after the shiny players. He's identified deficiencies and filled them. We've dithered, and dithered, and get linked with certain overrated players in positions that aren't our glaring weaknesses. Or neglect to fill those gaping holes during windows where it is obvious we should have.

But he hasn’t always identified weaknesses, in some cases he’s created them.

Spot On.

Liverpool bought exactly what they needed.
DL's haggling techniques are no longer working, he's the worst buyer in the PL nowadays, clubs don't want to deal with him. There were local PL proven talents to buy.
We needed RB to replace Tripps and DM to replace Dembele as priorities but DL bought Locelso and Ndombele both AMs says it all.
There are still deluded fans who would defend DL. One day they will realise.

Yeah, but we couldn't get rid of players DL said. I mean, who wouldn't want a broken down Wanyama for 25M right now? :roseunsure:

We have it now. You don't rate Sessegsnon, do you? And tell me how you feel about Lo Celso's price tag.
It's not that I don't necessarily rate Sessegnon. It's just that folks in these thread were driving me crazy with their building up of his abilities due to his goal scoring. There are some that suggest he is Stephen Hawking on the football field and that will lead us to silverware. I am not too impressed with his defending and his work more forward is so reliant on others. He doesn't possess much ability on the ball and these folks are talking about him competing with Sonny. but he also doesn't have blistering pace so I wonder what his contribution will actually be.

GLC's price and situation is laughable when he was 1/2 of the price last year when he could have helped us. did Poch dither to get Eriksen to sign? If so that was stupid because last year was the year to get rid of Eriksen if he didn't sign. We could have gotten GLC and Maddison (if we were so inclined) for 20 less than GLC cost this year. Total shitshow. 20M!!!! Ruiz went to Roma for 25 last year! That's 3 solid additions for what is GLC's price this year (not considering the loan+option shit). Misplaced loyalty is a bitch.

As I said, you don't rate him.

Stinky finger.

I agree, Rodgers is a fantastic manager and am still shocked some people don't see it that way - his work with Liverpool getting them to 2nd in touching of the distance from the title was incredible and now look how well he is doing at Leicester. If we are to see Poch leave in the next year (personally I hope not) Rodgers would be one of the ones I would hope for tbh, although wouldn't surprise me if they snuck into the top 4 (or at least finished above us) this year so he may want to stay put.
Rodgers??? Jesus christ, people are getting desperate, win 6 games out of 10 and now he's good enough to be manager of one on the biggest clubs in the prem. :dembelelol:

It's not only Leicester, Rodgers has proven himself pretty much everywhere. He turned Swansea into a competitive team and was one Gerrard slip away from winning the title with the bin dippers. He dominated the Scottish League with Celtic (although it can be argued that others would have done it as well) and now he's arguably made Leicester a better team than they were last season. He's not the most likable character, but he is a good coach.

what, 11th? I guess it's competitive for Swansea. When he left Liverpool they were 10th. I could dominate the league with celtic.

Klopp wanted Pepe
Liverpool wouldn’t pay for Pepe
Liverpool signed no one

Backed to the hilt?

Let’s look at their signings from the the summer of 2018 then shall we: THREE windows 4 players, one permanently first team, potentially two.
Kieta
Shaqiri
Fabinho
Aliison

Ours in the same period: Three windows, four players, one permanently first team, potentially three.
Ndombele
Lo Celso
Sessengon
Clarke

Other than Allison, can you point our what other major signings they made in that same period?
And could you tell me if you think Kieta and Fabinho have shown anything to suggest that the combined 90M spent will be better backing than the 64M we spent on Ndombele, Pochs number one target by the way.

Do you also think that Shaqiri was a better buy than Lo Celso?

Will you still laud them spending nothing when the injuries kick in?

And I will repeat it again, and again, and again until people stop pretending it didn’t happen.
Liverpool refused to sanction the Pepe fee.
Klopp wanted Pepe and they got no one.

Please explain how Klopp was backed this season.
