Weren't they at Southampton at the same time?
What would you do if Levy did this and then reinvested in the squad a la Pool/Coutinho and we went on to win the CL next year and do (at least) the double the year after? Straightforward question deserving of a straightforward answer.I feel like even if Levy sold Kane to Woolwich for massive profit the likes ofAirfixx would still defend him on here. He really is Teflon Dan
Honestly - wouldn’t know how to feelWhat would you do if Levy did this and then reinvested in the squad a la Pool/Coutinho and we went on to win the CL next year and do (at least) the double the year after? Straightforward question deserving of a straightforward answer.
This sure is going to ruin the day of one particular poster on this site.![]()
Anfield's steps to domination: Putting the right man in charge
Liverpool have waited 30 years to lift the Premier League and now they are on the brink of finally doing so. Not to mention, three trophies in 2019 including their sixth European Cup by beating Tottenham.www.dailymail.co.uk
Signing smart by understanding big data
English football mocked when Henry and Werner talked enthusiastically about how baseball had been transformed by Billy Beane's Moneyball and a new wave of perplexing stats, and how, in 2004, it helped them end the 86 years without a World Series at the Red Sox.
Most saw them as naïve owners about to be fleeced by an idea that made for a great Hollywood movie but wouldn't fit English football. Liverpool hired Ian Graham, a Cambridge University physics PhD, from Spurs and Michael Edwards, also from Tottenham, just as Gordon took over.
Former sporting director Damien Comolli, who had worked with them, said they were the best in what was then a niche activity. Graham writes his own statistical metrics to outperform rivals.
Edwards applies the analysis to a wider canvas. The headline successes are Philippe Coutinho, signed for £8.5million and sold for £142m — enabling the signings of Virgil van Dijk and Allison — and taking a chance on Chelsea reject Mo Salah for £34m in 2017.
But Graham's favourite signing is Andy Robertson for £8m, who was part of the worst defence in the Premier League at Hull City but is now in UEFA's team of the year. Gordon identified Graham and Edwards's talent, empowered them and promoted them. Graham is director of research and Edwards is sporting director.
You can do better than that. Thing is you implied that someone would have been wrong for celebrating Levy selling Kane to Woolwich i.e. it would be bad. I asked what if that contributed to our hugely successful dickslapping of the rest of England and Europe and you can't tell me how you'd feel about that?
Spy on our spy as he searches for their spy you mean??......good idea darling....
Matic isn't going anywhere, especially not now McTominay is out for another 6 weeks or so.Would take Matic. A proper DM willing to do the dirty work, and some how more mobile than Dier.
He would be very welcome. He’s llorente but way better
He can't fucking run.
Benzema got injured a week or so ago and Mariano Diaz is going to Benfica to replace Raul Tomas so Jovic is probably not going anywhere.Jovic would be an exciting addition. He really dreamed of Madrid though so not sure he’ll have the hunger to play for us. He’s about 5’11 too? Is that big enough for José?
But he’s a much better finisher than llorente.
That’s what she saidI tend not to be much into the whole “no buying former rivals” stuff...
But man, Giroud would be a tough one to swallow
