Nonsense. Not if you are BVB. Harry wouldn't work in BVB (not mobile enough) and the only reason they went after Haaland is Paco is hurt all the time not because he doesn't produce.
My point is Haaland would look at Dortmund and see a pretty clear path towards playing time whereas he wouldn't with us. This is your post I was replying to...

"Yeah, but BVB already had a striker as well. Imagine negotiating a transfer from a position of strength with an eye toward to future instead of last minute scraping for emergency needs. Imagine all the transfers, playing for the team...you may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one."

The simple reality is Haaland was not going to be joining us no matter what.

Now if you're arguing we should have had a striker in place since this summer, I'd agree with you. But a striker of Haaland's caliber would not be coming here regardless.

As a poster just posted but pulled down what makes you think he wouldn't think he could oust Harry in a fair competition?

He is a different player. But you're not going to find a direct replacement for him.

Lo Celso is a much more complete player than Eriksen. He's better defensively, he's a better dribbler and to be honest he's shown he's probably just as good when it comes to creating. Especially if comparing Eriksen over the last 18 months anyway.

Whether he can maintain the consistency and perform against the best clubs like Eriksen did only time will tell.
Agree with that .... just hope he’s got some goals in his locker also

That's actually pretty smart from him and his agent. From Salzburg it was €25M.
Everybody wanted him and he could choose the smartest career move for his developmen. Now he's done it again a pretty low release clause, everybody will want him. And he can once more choose the club he like best. This is something huge talents that everybody wants should start practising. It's great for them and pretty good for the clubs they go to.

Agent gets 20m of that fee too.

It goes without saying that we all love Harry to bits, but we do have to accept that whilst he still had great years ahead of him, his injuries are taking a toll. We’re already seeing him drop deep, like Rooney. He’s still comfortably our best player but surely, SURELY, we have to learn our lesson. We need an alternative and it needs to be either an exceptional talent or a seasoned veteran.

There’s no reason why someone like Haaland couldn’t flourish with us and start 20 plus games a season (if not more), being used as a sub in others. To say nothing of playing two up front.

We’re proving Pep’s point and acting like the Harry Kane team. We need to buck our ideas up.

Great point.
Its exactly this who's gonna come and sit on our bench nonsense that's led Harry Kane to the treatment room for around a third of the last 3 seasons.
And even when fit, he goes through periods where it's blindingly obvious he needs some serious competition for his place

I will be delighted if the transfer market gets a bit more sensible.
To me one million quid is a lot of money. 2 million quid is a helluva lot of money, 3 million quid..etc.
