January? I'd take it. Like, have we recently got anything... comparable?Gedson, Piatek and Bergwjin would somehow be a great and not great window at the same time.

It would be good for me. I think Aurier can do a decent job until the end of the season, and Tang can easily cover for him. If we managed to get Piatek, that would be 1 of our major problems solved, and Piatek is quality. Gedson is a bit of a weird one for me, because I think we have players who can do his job, although in different ways, but saying that, José must have seen something in him. Bergwijn is a very good deal. Young, dutch winger who can cover for Son and Lucas, and might even do a decent job as a striker. IF, and knowing how Levy works, that's a big IF, we got Bergwijn and Piatek alongside Gedson, while shifting deadwood like Rose and Wanyama, unhappy players like Eriksen and players that we think that will not cut it like KWP and Foyth (the latter of which I don't agree with), I would consider this an extremely positive window.Gedson, Piatek and Bergwjin would somehow be a great and not great window at the same time.

When you see what he has done at Watford we should have got more out of Capoue as well.
"My SPURS" the guy is such a slut... but I love him... like a 'first love you can never truly let go!
:vdvdive:
Capoue wasn't with us for very long. He showed some really good glimpses after he first transferred, but had that nasty injury in his first season that put him on the sidelines for a good while and he never looked like the same player or ever really recovered his form.Tbh, I think being a bust at Spurs gave him the required kick up the arse to step his shit up. He was often a ghost for us.
I usually don't mind the long negotiations that much, but it's sad to think that if we would sign him tomorrow then we could start/play a striker against City, but now we won't be able to.I'd really like to think that the standoff over Piatek is just posturing to knock a couple of million off. The supposed Chelsea interest is classic AC Milan/agent stories to the press to hurry us up.
We are so desperate for a striker that surely a breakthrough happens before/on Friday.
Dude it's a joke
My understanding of Piatek is he's not a target man/back to goal sort of player. He's more a fox in the box and doesn't do much in terms of build up play. The way he was described reminded more of like Roberto Soldado than say Fernando Llorente.
Would probably only play a substitute role at best - on the plus side, if it gets done at all then it'll mean we have some kind of striking option for the Saints replay.I usually don't mind the long negotiations that much, but it's sad to think that if we would sign him tomorrow then we could start/play a striker against City, but now we won't be able to.

Piatek needs to happen. I think he’d thrive with players like Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Ndombele feeding him the ball.

I imagine the "£60m 28 year old" bit is a dig at William José. I don't know how many times I have to explain this but he isn't a £60m 28 year old, he's a £21m 28 year old. £60m (well, £59m/€70m) is his legally-required buy out clause, there's no suggestion whatsoever that Real Sociedad have ever sought that. Indeed, if they were, a club interested in signing him wouldn't have to negotiate a damn thing with RS, they'd only need to agree wages with WJ and then pop into the offices of La Liga with seventy million euro coins and buy his existing contract (contracts here belong to the league).
From all reports in the local press, Real Sociedad want €25 million, Spurs won't budge from €15 million (£21m/£11m).
I've no idea which is the better player (personally, like most I suppose, I'll be delighted with which ever one JM prefers) but it doesn't help if the facts aren't being presented accurately

Youth GK, potentially a 3rd GK going on first loan - should have been on more in the past
Viborg 3rd in Danish top flight
