Well, you won’t get many disagreeing with that.

I’d love us to install a Director of Football overseeing a team of dedicated scouts. They should then provide Levy with a series of targets across all ranges and prices, but Levy should have nothing to do with the actual targeting of players.

Campos would be a start.

Daniel will have none of it though. I think he enjoys it too much.

Up to a point, haven't you just described how we somewhat operate anyway?

It's not like we don't have scouts already.

Sure DL has input/influence on a financial basis, but it's not like Levy is scouting himself and compiling lists of prospective purchases...

What we specifically need from a DOF is a more cohesive broader transfer strategy from the playing end of things; one that transcends yet still heeds the demands of the manager; with the DOF then co-ordinating and focussing our scouting department's efforts accordingly.

Cannolli & Baldinni prove he's more than prepared to work employ a DOF.

Aurier has been excellent since Mourinho has come in but we still need a right back. Davies is a reserve LB imo and Sanchez, Toby and Tanganga are hopefully fighting for one of the 2 cb starting spots to partner a new starting CB.

I'm warming to Aurier in a big way at the moment. I feel we can get Aarons in the summer and stick with Serge to rotate I think that's us set. Can see it happening as well.

Usually known as Gout.

That's the one :) Though usually I go on about magnesium and the kidneys (that all acids must cycle through carbonic, which the kidneys need Magnesium to enact before expulsion or recycling may occur...), slowing of lymph and other boring acid/alkaline stuff (maybe not soo much to us), but can't be bothered now Poch has left the complex!

"Give Gout a clout" was one of my old SC threads, those were the days...

No but it has absolutely no relevance to now and shouldn’t be presented that we have just spent £51 million as if this something new.

What next? The next instalment of the Ndombele fee being paid being seen as a sign of commitment and a cause for praise?
Isn’t it funny that Levy is called a tight cunt for looking at loans, but when he makes them permanent he’s still a tight cunt and it was never really a loan

Indeed, realised that.

It’s difficult. A strong DoF will put off certain managers (Poch’s just call me coach claim). Jose, in contrast, seems to be ok with it.

Getting rid of the guys we had in place was part of the process of making Poch "manager" (rather than head coach). Poch's "just call me coach" stuff was a sulky jibe at Levy, not at being subjected to a DOF... We didn't have one at the time.

Even when we had a DoF, I still think Levy was all over the scouting. I think he had final say. I’d like to see a Spurs where he really is just the money man, but appreciate that’s never going to happen.

Not in the way you're implying, no.

....But DL's inevitably gonna have an influence on a financial level.... He'll obviously drive how concerned a DOF should be in terms or resale values and so on.

DOF = Director of football; not Exec. Director of Transfers.

Gout Is painful......very. I think Levy has brain gout

I think as a 'stay at home' hybrid LB/CB we're about to see Davies allowed to play to his strengths and thrive as a result.
