Is that good? Seems a long way down the list.

JOSE URGES VERTONGHEN & ERIKSEN TO RE-SIGN
Jose Mourinho
wants Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen to follow Toby Alderweireld in committing their futures to Tottenham.

Your thoughts on that Airfixx Airfixx ?

Is that good? Seems a long way down the list.
It's good! Their are 24 teams in the league, with ave 4 midfielders = 96 midfields, so he's not a long way down the list, he's in the top 10%.

They are at the end of the day just numbers, context needs to applied i.e. the team in which all on this list play for, how they play, what's their style etc... His age, he's 21yrs old!

But if you haven't watched this kid I suggest you do, he's good fun and an exciting talent.

Eze, for the right price, would be a superb signing.

Has the right build, strength and technical ability to flourish not only at Spurs but in the Premier League in general.

The fact we've been scouting him for what seems like 4 years is probably a good indicator as to what our feelings are on him.

Bowen and Eze in January would be smart business. British talent who can either go back on loan to get experience before joining up in the summer or to fill out squad out and loan out other youngsters to fill their spot.

No forward? Surely we need someone who can sub Kane

Bowen as an alternate to Son ( and the more diminutive Moura) are all winger/strikers. Unless Kane gets badly injured I don't see any way that a pure striker as a back up would get much playing time.

But having players who can play AM and striker well - and are prolific in front of goal - and it's a good compromise allowing good players a decent amount of playing time in both roles. Also allows Parrott to develop in house as striker if that's the way Mouhinio is going - I'd expect Parrott to need maybe a dozen appearances next season ( both starting and off bench) and more the following season.

Not sure why my thoughts are particularly notable, but hey....

Jan: My impression was that the impasse was regarding length of extention offered to him last year.... We'd offered 1 year, he wanted 2. He'd said he'd wanted to to stay back then. If he re-signs and his fitness & mobility holds up then great; 2 more years of one of my fave players.... What's not to like?

Eriksen: I was under the impression (from previous articles) that we'd attempted to convince CE to stay again (with a 200kpw offer... again) since JM arrived anyway so not much new in this headline afaic. If (big IF imo) he re-signs and is re-integrated then I suspect he'll re-find much better form.... If you check his thread, my view has always been that his form has been disrupted by all the uncertainty over his future (as I state for the nth time; we saw this before his previous renewal).

Just develop Foyth, Tanganga and Sanchez.

Considering we've just extended Alderweireld contract. Going for a centre back would be stupid.

Just because of our previous exchanges on Eriksen, anyway thanks for answering.

(*Of course, I knew that really....)

.....Exchanges that you evidently still refuse to comprehend. :sigh:

Has he crated a rod for his back by speaking out the way he did?

[Checks his thread.]

....Could this have been avoided?

I rest my case.

I don't know what thread you checked but it wasn't that one, I've only done 4 posts in that thread, none of those were in reply to yourself.

You misunderstood my post.... OR chose not to (it is genuinely hard to tell at times.)

I was speaking about the general furor surrounding Eriksen where a lot of fans believe he's phoning it in (*).

The fact that it exists, vindicates my side of our arguments during the summer.

(*I don't, but like I say, he's made that rod for his back regardless.)

Moral of the story: don't publicly announce your desire to leave.
