Isn't he being forced out of Barca because he literally can't pass his way out of the press to save his life?

And that's playing with Pique, Busquets and Messi
I didn't hear anything about that. He's had good reviews in some big games. Got a link?

EDIT: Been watching some vids, not sure he's a massive step up from Aurier. Still, he does seem better on the ball.

That's harsh. He's never caused a fuss and plays when asked. Just massively declined after injury.
I agree that it's harsh, and he never acted like a diva in the media.

I can't help but think his effort to come back to his former level isn't 100%.
I can admit that it might be beyond his ability (so even with 100% effort and willpower) to regain his exact level. In my opinion it should be well within Wanyama's reach to gain a level that's good enough to start as our CDM, given our limited options.

To exaggerate my point: even a Wanyama half as good as the one we knew would help our midfield problem with CDM.

Some players are never the same after a big injury.... Whether it be purely physical or partly psychological; It happens.

Not worth casting speculative aspertions over.

From my Barça friends, his biggest issue is that he doesn’t link up well with Messi, or at least, not as well as Roberto (their other RB).

He’s excellent defensively and okay at getting forward. I believe the latter is more of a case of him having to work harder defensively (Messi doesn’t do any tracking back), leaving him without much energy to attack.

I think you are only allowed two loan players in your squad so a lot of our activity will depend on Lo Celso. Do we buy him outright for the reduced fee and free up two loan spots for Piatek and Lemar? Then buy Semedo for £30m? If we don’t buy Lo Celso then we can only make one loan signing which would severely limit what we can do.

The big constraint is the number of overseas trained players - currently ( under CL rules) we have no spare spaces.

Until we free up overseas trained player places we can't add to our registered squad - whether we loan them in or buy them.

But you are correct there are limits on loaning players in.

I think we may have 1 spot available with Llorente going and if we get shot of Eriksen and Wanyama we will have no problems.

Jose suddenly got very tight lipped when the issue of a new right back came up in the press conference.

There are players out there that can play as 9's or as false 9's but also play as wide forwards or AM's who would give the squad more depth and variation. Provide the back up for when Kane's out or rested but can play other positions too.

Question is who is actually available right now.

Think that Mourhino wants a striker who ideally can play as an AM rather than another AM who can play striker ( like Son).

Currently have none as Parrott needs to be registered as overseas trained under CL rules - and although re could stop registering for 2nd half of the season that's not wise if we want him to sign another contract.

So getting Wanyama off our books is necessary to create a spare spot.
