The good news is, you don't have to worry.
We'll get neither.

Unpopular opinion - I’d rather sign Grealish over Bruno Fernandes.
When is FFP going to put Everton back in their box ? Emre Can is better than them. But they keep getting decent signings on big money, and one day it’s gonna work.
I don’t think that’s an unpopular opinion at all, but we aren’t going to sign either of them. We had our chance to sign Grealish and blew it, now he will cost £60m and be able to ask for a huge wage at United, City, Chelsea or Liverpool.
I wonder if Levy ever reflects on how stupid it was when he offered £3m+ Onomah for him. If we had signed him that summer for the reasonable £20m that was quoted, our team wouldn’t be in such a mess right now.
I thought Everton won the transfer window the summer before last though?
Spend money yes but don't spend it on mad signings like Iwobi (£35m!). Genuinely if that was on offer to me or no signing I would go another window of not getting anyone.
We were prepared to pay £25m for him, they wanted closer to £45m as that was the figure they required to pay off their FFP. Unreasonable money for a Championship player and once it started getting to the crunch moment when they were about to buckle a couple of American Billionaires purchased them, sold off Villa park, got a sponsorship deal etc in place and it gave them what they needed financially to not need to sell. I wish people would just accept that this kind of thing happens from time to time.

Iwobi was a panic buy when they couldnt get zaha.I thought Everton won the transfer window the summer before last though?

They wanted £25m at the start of that summer and Levy tried to humiliate them while they were in financial difficulties. When they got the new owners and no longer had pressure to sell, Levy panicked and offered the £25m on deadline day but by then it was far too late.
One of his biggest ever gaffes but this is what happens when you behave the way he does. Sometimes you wear another chairman down and get a bargain, sometimes they pull up the drawbridge and tell you to fuck off. If Levy had opened with a serious offer instead of £3m plus Onomah, Grealish would be here.
Of course it would, it would be in an even bigger mess. Grealish isn’t what we are desperately short of, we’ve got some mercurial, erratic and inconsistent forward players already and he’s much lazier than all of the ones we’ve got.
He’s a 1990’s signing. A much shitter Ginola, who plays for himself.
Buendia is about three times the player, younger, about a third of the price and works has absolute nuts off.
But we need a 6 first.

Their signings havent worked out but fair play to them, they're still going for it.
Ancelotti is huge for there profile.
Worked for chelsea and man city so why not. They're still going for it yes but they've just announced losses the the last year stacking up to £110m and are being investigated for the USM deal they have brokered for their new stadium as Usmanov is a part share owner. Usmanov is also worth a rumoured £13bn, it's not as if they went for it purely because of ambition, they're in a situation where they have a frivolous spending owner these days with Kenwright taking a back seat.
Pioli picking a man that he himself declared "would never be a Serie A caliber player" over Piatek either means that Piatek is on the way out or Rebic has some seriously criminalizing footage of Pioli.Rebic coming on instead of Piatek on the Milan game.
Piatek on the way?![]()
Prior to the summer window it needed tuning and didn't get it whose fault was that if a couple of signings had been made then maybe we would not have been in this mess, I think the club tried to cut Corners and not spend thinking that while the team were in the top four it didn't need to.We kinda don't have much choice other than to be patient really, this season is what it is.
In the past ten years we've seen our team go from a mid table team to one consistently probing the top 2-3 spaces in the league, making the knockout phase of the Champions League, even made a final for the first time and have done so during a time where we've finally been able to settle in our new stadium. We've gone from having a manager like Juande Ramos to someone like Mourinho, all infrastructure required is complete whereas ten years ago we were still having issues with that steelworks company over land etc.
It's been a long time but we are in it for the long haul. The only shame is that our best squad for some time didn't make it over the line but with three cup finals and a fair few semi finals where we just came up short as the 6th biggest financially able team in the league I'm not quite sure what more the owners could have done unless they started pushing the spending above our means. The summer we didn't sign anyone was iffy yeah but we did still get top four that year and did still make a Champions League final. People forget that.
This team reached the end of its cycle. Most teams whennthey do have a stutter but we are a completely different animal to the team we were the last time we had to add in a couple of places.
We can still rolled out a starting XI looking like Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Ndombele, Gedson, Dele, Lo Celso, Son, Kane when we have them fit, it's not exactly a poor team it just needs finely tuning once or twice every window.
To be fair to Rebic he's been very good since he's come on. Also helped by the fact that Bonnaventura was dreadful. If Milan don't hold Rebic, maybe a cheeky loan bid to Frankfurt?Pioli picking a man that he himself declared "would never be a Serie A caliber player" over Piatek either means that Piatek is on the way out or Rebic has some seriously criminalizing footage of Pioli.
And he just went and scored lol.
Worked for chelsea and man city so why not.
It maybe against FFP but it is ambition and I'm sure their fans are happy about it even if right now the football people aren't getting it quite right.
I wasn't comparing them with anyone just saying fair play to them for going for it.Usmanov is worth £13bn, Abramovic is worth £12.5bn, Sheikh Mansour is worth £15bn with a family value of £1trn. Joe Lewis is worth a rumoured £5.4bn, which is actually closer to Mike Ashley's worth at a rumoured £4.2bn.
To compare our owners to Chelsea, Everton and Man City really isn't fair IMO, two very different animals right there. Joe Lewis is actually worth less than the current owners of Wolves it ain't as easy on face value as it seems, especially when you go down the right path which is spending within your means.
