I doubt Jose will play Dele as a sole striker, it will likely be Son with Berg and Lucas next to him in a 4-3-3. Dele won't start unless we have alot of midfield industries and he drops back or just behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1.

In any case, this thread should be a barrel of laughs today.

:mourcry:

I don't disagree with playing Parrott, but 4th is not gone. We are 6 points back (only -1 goal difference from of 5th) with 14 to play, and both clubs ahead of us aren't playing well either. Have a little more faith.

Our remaining home games are mostly against top 7 teams and we're rubbish away. We'll do well to reach 55 points in all honesty.

Bellends saying Benteke, Balotelli etc. just because it costs money when we can blood a talented youngster who has the potential to far out do them.
It's a fair point, but José's already said he's not ready hasn't he? I don't think he's going to get much, if any game time this season.

I'd sooner see us get someone on a short-term deal/ loan for now; let Parrott go back to playing with the U23's etc. and ease him into the squad next season, or send him out somewhere on loan to get some serious minutes under his belt.

José has also made it clear that Troy has been given a personalized training program so that he can become "ready". And has actually praised him a fair bit.

So unless Chelski somehow decide to let Giroud leave that's us done it seems.
I'd like to know what happened to Willian Jose. Only €10m apart (allegedly) at one point. I figured that would get over the line even if it was a loan with obligation to buy for like €18m (£15m). It wouldn't be a great signing but he'd be a perfectly cromulent striker to rotate with Kane.

I can understand not wanting to fork over €27m for Piatek.

Going into the second half of the season, latter stages of the Champions League and an FA Cup run with no recognised striker is inexcusable.

I understand we might have targets we would rather sign in the summer, but we’ve gone years in this situation.

We’ve resulted in chasing Chelsea’s third choice striker to make him our first and only choice striker.

Still been a good window chaps. We needed this start to the rebuild in the summer, but for whatever reason, seems like Poch and Levy fell out over it then and now we're happy for Jose to start the rebuild.

That's why I caveated with the readiness line.

I think Jose is wrong to find a stop gap like Benteke, Giroud, Balotelli etc. just to let them go in the summer when we can expose Pazza.

Even if he doesn't do well, he's 17. He can return to the 23's next season with a fresh perspective of what elite level play is.

Gedson is no risk and Bergwjin is a good signing. Not signing a striker is going to force Jose to adapt his attacking style, though. I would except Ndombele/Lo Celso/Winks/Gedson to bear the brunt of the burden now in terms of advancing the ball and creativity. Long balls are just dead balls now.

Or, since Troy isn't going out on loan because of fucked up homegrown rules (thanks PL and UEFA!), maybe he uses him a bit up top as well.

not really mate. Would be a good window if we signed a striker we desperately needed. Would be a great window if we signed a right back and defensive midfielder. We have signed a bunch of players in positions we don’t really need. We have no striker now for the whole of the season, utter shambles
