I think it's a good option too, better than trying Giroud but JM doesn't think so, otherwise we wouldn't have been chasing Giroud.

Not sure likes of Giroud (or the other strikers available) would necessarily start each game as I think the formations I've set out are as good or better, but no striker does limit our options, unless Parrott plays a blinder ! Or Dele becomes used to playing as a striker/false no 9 as Liverpool do (and they arguably have no strikers).

With some of the striker options, I'm coming round to the idea that Son up top with Bergwijn to the left is not a bad option by comparison.

Might also try Dele up top with Son one side and Bergwijn to the other and Lo Celso as no 10.

All options with Parrott, Moura and Lamela on the bench.

Not ideal, but not ridiculous either.

As Mourinho said, it would have been easier had we had a striker, but it's not the end of the world either. We have some options available and I'm sure he'll look for the best solution. Again, not a very good outcome, but there's no reason for doom and gloom either.

On paper it's not so bad - but if the idea is to continue the long ball bonanza we need someone to make the ball stick up there - and none of those players can do that

If only there was some way, outside of maths, to make a prediction of the likeliness of something happening.

You know, like form and watching the football Spurs are playing.

In the last few weeks we've struggled v. Watford, Southampton, Norwich and Middlesbrough. But we should be beams of light and optimism about turning that around immediately. Despite all the evidence to the contrary.

There's being optimistic...then there is ignoring all the evidence.

Hopefully we turn it around. But I've hope that since a year ago. Hasn't happened yet.

YES. Exactly. YES.

So we see it in the same way. That's exactly what I am saying. I've seen what football Spurs has been playing. Also against lesser opponents.

And that's why I initially pointed out that this window should have addressed more than 3/6 issues. One of the main issues in my eyes has been lack of control/dominance in midfield. If we would have gotten DM + everything else we have done this window, I would have believed 4th is possible.

And realistically possible. Because as you understand very well it is not only our performance we have to consider in the competition. It is also our competitors. At that - Liverpool have been impressive. But Chelsea and Manu have not - hence we have quite small gap with them. We agree we have been shit. They have been only tiny bit less shit...

Good coaches adjust the style of play to the players we have,

If Ndombele stays fit, he and G|edson/Winks/Skipp should be able to control midfield more so reducing the need for all long balls,

Think Bergwijn and Son will also receive long balls, both able to receive and move the ball forward. With Moura ball often bounces back, so its about getting right forwards in place..

Expecting to resolve all the squads issues in a January window is not realistic. Solving 3 is decent going.

I'd say, of all the clubs in Europe, we're in the top 5% in terms of getting quality in.

Inter Milan signed Eriksen and Young ffs.

Yep.

Although if we finish 12th I think it'll be because of a massive number of issues.

We may be shit, but if we get that shit then Jose has questions to answer.

I think we'll come 6th myself.
Well we are a massive 4 points off 12th right now so I wouldn't rule it out , we are going to struggle to win matches without an out and out striker , especially when you add that to all the other issues we have had for the best part of a year now

We haven't really done anything this month to address the key problems in this side , we will continue to leak goals and struggle to score them in my opinion but I guess we'll see
